its a pretty amazing place ,with many a road unridden , especially the south Island mountains and central Otago. hot and dry in summer .. freezing in winter. I went past a sign in the central sth land saying 1/2 a person per 100km ,why didnt it say 1 person per 200km? lol its they way it is here. There were nice hill sections there too, this was some time back and I didnt skate then, would love to get back and check it out again,
