Hi my name is Tim Eckert, im from germany and i have been street skating for 7 years and longboarding for about 2 years now.
In the last months i mostly learned some boardwalking tricks, so thats the category i would like to enter in.
The reason why i want to be roarockit beta board tester ist because i love riding new longboards. My friends sometimes dont even get a chance to ride their new boards, because im too stoked to give them away .
On the other side i am very interested in the way these new boards are constructed. To date i have build 21 Longboards, including the longboard i ride in the video, which is a double v-lam between some glas with concave and camber.
The video is a bit outdated, since it was filmed about 2 month ago an i learned alot of new stuff, so maybe i will upload a new one.
so here is the video:
My name is Alex Jones, Im 17 years old and Im a freeborder. I would love to test out one of your boards because it would be cool to be a part of something new, and Freebord's may not have been what you are looking for, but a light strong deck is definitely what the Freebord community is looking for, I would love to help out your company and the skate community in any way I can and this seems like a great opportunity! I guess my disipline would be downhill sliding, I do some simple freestyle but nothing to dramatic. Because of the ride freebord presents it will test your deck construction in ways most other disiplines would not test it. Heres a short video of some of my down hill, Im currently working on a more diverse video though, thanks for the opportunity!
ZuneTV - First Freebord Vid - (sorry its not on Google video)
Ive finished my second video but I cant get it to save properly, when I finish it Ill post it here.
Well, I figure I might as well enter, but I dont have new footage. I'll enter in the boardwalking/dancing category, but I am fluent in many disciplines.
My name is Nick Grasso, and I have been longboarding for about a year and a half, but have skateboarded in some form for most of my life. I think I should be a roarockit board tester for multiple reasons. One, I am a decent dancer, and I know what factors make a great board for dancing. I am not afraid to thrash a board, and have done so with all my decks, most recently a loaded pintail. I can easily figure out the strengths and weaknesses in a deck not only because of my skating ability, but because I am an amateur board builder. I have experimented with different methods of building, and I know what factors in building a deck influence the overall ride. This would allow me to be able to analyze the decks weaknesses not only in a "how it rides" factor, but what factors in the build process make it ride that way. This would be beneficial to the testing process as we could pinpoint the weaknesses in the deck's construction very easily.
I have also tried many different types of decks and trucks for dancing. I have long time experience with an insect big bug, a loaded pintail, and various hommade decks, all of which I have noted their weaknesses and strengths for dancing. For example, the big bug has a very large wheel base which allows ample room for dancing and stablity. However, because the wheelbase is so long on a 44" deck, the nose and tail are very small, making it harder to nose manual. The flex is also perfect for dancing. It's snappy, and does not sag, which allows you to get more energy out of carves. In contrast, the loaded pintail has a trampoline like flex, which is tough to dance on, as it is very unpredictable. The flex characteristics are a result of the materials the boards are made of. The Big bug is birch and unidirectional fiberglass, which results in a snappy flex. The pintail on the other hand is made of bamboo and fiberglass, and bamboo is a very flexible wood. This, combined with the fiberglass results in the trampoline like flex. Both boards share the small nose, but because the pintail is lighter, it is easier to manual. This lightness is not only due to the smaller size of the pintail, but the bamboo is a lighter material.
In conclusion, i think it would be a great experience to be a board tester, and i want to see this deck be all that it can be.
and now for the video, here is my recent loaded challenge series 3 video. The first half is skating, the second is the physical challenges that were required, you dont have to watch that. Thanks,
Nick
I started longboarding about three years ago with a group of friends and instantly became hooked on it. I’ve been a carver since day one I love the feeling of hard carving because it’s like surfing on a concrete wave. One of my favorite parts about longboarding is that everyone finds there own unique style of skating when they first step on a board. Over the years longboarding has become a big part of my life and a great way to express myself.
Id love to be a CL beta board tester because I’m sick of people telling me longboarding isn’t a real sport and I think if board companies keep designing boards that are made with better materials it will really help the progression of longboarding. i got a video its pretty short but thats all i can get so take a look at it
My name is Bart Tuszkiewicz and I'm from the Great White North (Canada). I've been snowboarding for over 8 years now and I originally started Longboarding a year and a half ago when I found silverfish and built my first Longboard in shop class to kill time during the off season. With Roarockit providing me with the wood and tips. Over the next year or so I purchased 3 more boards a cruiser, a downhill board and finally a dancing style board (Yes the addiction had set in). I didn't start "Dancing" until four months ago. Nowadays I don't longboard to kill time but I longboard everyday I get the chance because I enjoy it just as much as I enjoy snowboarding, if not more.
I believe that all disciplines of Longboarding (whether it be downhill, sliding, cruising, or dancing) allow the rider a freedom of expression. Dancing in particular lets each rider express themselves in their own ways with each one having their own personal style. I would like to be a Beta Board Tester in the "Dancing" category because unlike sliding or downhill lonboarding you don't need a hill and it can be done anywhere (My hometown lacks hills). And when I Longboard it takes all my worries away and lets me express myself. There's just me and the board...
So why would I like to be a Beta Board tester. I would like to be a board tester because I've been honked at by motorists, I've been run off the road, I've been given the finger, I've been kicked out of garages by security, I've been asked to leave by the police, I've made my sacrifices to the concrete gods with flesh and blood and finally I've fallen only to get up and ask "Is my board okay?", all of this because I've done it all for the longboarding and not caring what others think or say.
I would like to have the chance to be a board beta tester because I started longboarding by making my own board by using the toothless method, making my own press. Since then longboarding manufacturing has come a long way and I would like to once again be a part of this new way in making longboards by providing input for the board I would ride and test for the given month.
Why would I be a good Board Beta Tester? Because I ride my board Daily and I constantly try to do new things with my longboard. Sometimes they don't work and look stupid but eventually I'll land a trick and get the sense of satisfaction for accomplishing something. I also have some ideas and shapes (on paper) for a dancer that I have not seen used yet which I would love to have the chance to share with these great board builders.
Thanks for Everyone who made this contest possible by giving the average Longboarder out there the chance to be a part of something new and very interesting!
Good Luck to All!
Bart Tuszkiewicz
Here's my video. Sorry about the bad quality but I shot it with a Digital camera's Movie setting and it wasnt that bad until I uploaded it to youtube. Enjoy!

My obsession for speed and riding started early in my life. I started skiing when I was 3, and then snowboarding when I was 12. After a decade of riding the slopes I met Joker whilst working at the Bedford Academy in Yorkville, Toronto. He introduced me to P-Swiss of LB Haven and sparked the next leaf in the fire that is my obsession.
I tried numerous styles of boards and riding styles, but found my love in my snowboarding roots. My board got longer and longer, and did less DH in my free time then I used to. Then my board broke, and the wonderful fellows at Lush sent me my first dancer, the Kisiwa. This board became the hated rival of my family, due mostly to the fact that I could not get away from it. I spent more time pushing, then dancing, across town from garage to garage then in the garages them selves and spent more time practicing my foot work whilst listening to my favorite tunes. I stop going to the gym because I was skating 5-6 hours every other day, sweating to the point of exhaustion, then pushing it a little further.
I want to be a tester of these boards because I want to raise the bar. I want to show the city that there is more to longboarding then DH, there is style, and flats an slight grades don't have to be hated and just bombed through. Also after a few tickets for riding on the road, the sidewalk and the pedestrians become my garages and my spectators. I would love to see if you can build a dancer that would raise this bar and would be honored to be included.
HI, im Brent Dubendorff or "Dubes" IM 20 yrs old and id like to help test your board.
I live for hills that are " unskateable" or "too dangerous" for most. I am an avid Downhill Skateboarder. I travel as much as possible and skate every day, for the last three months I have been traveling and skating around the globe. I cant say im into much skating other than downhill, but thats my niche. Whether it be thrashing down a hill and coring a set of wheels in 2 runs, or bombing at interstate speeds, I just love acceleration and having to scrub it into every corner. I live in Colorado and skate about every shape of hill thats available, WE have a hard rocky base and the roads are often times a unforgiving shape, or banking. Hills dictate the riders, and IM glad I spend most my time in Colorado. Rather than in places like Cali where they are allowed to move earth easily and shape very flowing roads. Thats why I travel. Id like to test something new, simply because I've tried about every production board on the market and know there is innovation that can be made. Along with most wood boards, ive ridden foam core and balsa cored glass and carbon layups extensively. I have a pile of boards in the corner I have tested for a few different companies. Roggs, Chicago Longboards, Pavel etc. NOw they just sit, unfortunately they were not quite right, but thats what happens when you test things. You push the boards, and eventually find out what could be better.
Dont really know how else to convince.
I am not going to try and list what slides I can do or whatnot, IF A hill can be skated by anyone, I can skate it.
Videos Didnt realize it had to be only one, which these people later pointed out.

ill try to get a little more vid in the next few days, unfortunately the only video I have is of me just going fast, and ones I filmed myself.
