I have been skating for a few years and in that time i have become a well rounded skater in many disciplines as well as travel and try many different setups and board styles. I am an avid slider and downhiller-each session i push my boards to their limits and really force them to perform to the best of their ability. If there is something wrong with a board or a setup i quickly change it to my standards or retire the board if it is unsuitable. I have no problem with pointing out the pros or cons of any board or its components. Most importantly, i skate to have fun, skating different boards is fun and i look forward to trying new things and furthering the sport.

    Good Entry!

I started skating a few years ago. It just dawned to me one day that I was sick of walking. I went down to big5 and got a board. Then I found sf, and got a real board. Then it all went downhill from then on. Although I do practice other disciples (pumping, sliding, is cruising a discipline?), my main love, and the love that gets all of my time is downhill.

I want to be a CL beta tester because I love riding new things, I love pushing things to the limits, and as a builder, I love seeing new construction methods and learning from them. My current DH board is pushed to the limits every time I ride, from cranking incredibly hard turns at high speeds to the point that I have to struggle to keep my feet on the deck, to my myriad of falls which test the durability of boards (I ride a metal board, and with what I've put it through, any other board would be toast). As an experienced rider, I know exactly what desirable traits I want in a deck, and what undesirable traits I do not want. As a (somewhat) experienced builder, I use the knowledge I have gained from building (and failing at building) many decks to further my knowledge of what deck traits are desirable/undesirable. I will not hesitate to point out flaws and will always provide constructive criticism to better the construction of a board.

Unfortunately as I am always the one filming others I am rarely filmed myself, but I don't mind that, I love spreading the stoke with some good footage and pics. But as such I can't really provide a 90 sec vid of me skating, but I can provide a longer vid of me filming someone else (just choose whichever 1:30 long segment u like best). Just imagine me right behind the person skating similarly (if this is absolutely unacceptable, I'll try to scrounge together 90sec of dh footage of me)

this is my youtube channel: YouTube - biohazard329's Channel, and this is the video where you can best picture me doing crazy schenanigans:

Be really great if it was some footage of you. A slide presentation would also work.

I will be 100% honest, I have been boarding for a good 5 months now. I would not call myself a professional, but I would not call myself a "newbie" either. In fact, I won't even judge my ability at all. What I can offer you is a good, honest review from someone who LOVES to board. My discipline? More or less downhill/street, but nothing exceptionally technical. Don't get me wrong, I still do some crazy ****.

I'm the guy from Arizona who will skate at ANY time of the day. Yes Arizona, and yes anytime of the day only considering how long it will take me to pass out. It reaches upwards of 115 here (extreme heat testing!). I know what I like in a board, and am sometimes very picky. With surf roots I live to carve. I feel I learn a board best through carving, seeing what I throw at her and at what speeds. How my knees respond to her and just how I feel at the bottom of the hill...how bad do I really want to hike all the way back up? If its a board and setup I like, yes I'll hike that b*tch all day.

Unfortunately I leave for Marine Corps recruit training in October which may or may not hinder my chances of becoming a board tester. In that sense I board everyday not only to have fun, but to keep in shape when not PTing. Mornings I have DEP (delayed entry pool) training I wake up earlier to have breakfast on my board. Yes that sounds wierd, but a red cup of cereal and an apple in the pocket ain't bad. For some reason it stimulates my metabolism so I don't spew as much after I get ass chewed by our recruiter on a run. Anyways, longboarding has just kind of added itself to my schedule. I can use it as a way to vent, or use it as a way to put a smile on my face. I'm here to stay and I've still got the stoke. My board has seen a few miles.

The videos I've got are a few of my crew and myself (I've got the Loaded Vanguard on Orang's). Like I said, nothing real special, but I edited the vids and did a little of the filming myself. We're here to have fun, and like the guy above, there's no straight 90 sec. clip but I will take more if you are interested.

    Take Care

My name is Max Capps. I have been skateboarding for about 2 years now, and Speedboarding for a year and a half. I started by just cruising around on a board i hacked to resemble a Sector 9 cruiser. When me and my friends started to search for more places to skate, we found one hill, and thats when my speed crave started to grow.

I have ridden very vast vereity of speedboards, some i have built myself, some coming from different custom builders, most from almost all commercially available speedboards. With this i have ridden all styles, most layups, and all but a few of the trucks and wheels out there.

I want to be a tester because i think that with the range of races all over california that i go to, the different types of hills, and my experience with different boards, that i will be able to give valuable feedback that will help further the innovation of this new layup/build process.

Thanks and i hope that i will be in your minds later on.

I found this little article about that last clip in my video.(but keep in mind, i had a wetsuit on in the vid, and switched to my leathers later)
"Max Capps was one of the non-student competitors and with a leather speed suit fashioned with prison stripes, he was hard to miss. When asked about the course said, “Well it’s pretty much designed for speed. With the tail wind picking up, the times should be getting a lot faster as the day goes on.” And they did. For the men’s open downhill, Kevin Shore took the top time of the day with a time of 33.33. Max Capps came in second with 33.71 and Roberto Cortez finished third at 34.87."

Well, my names Bruce Clark and I've been longboarding for 2 years now, and DH has always been my main focus. I've ridden every type of DH deck enough to know how every one handles, but I prefer drop decks and pretty much only use an evo.

I also travel a lot. I'll be in Northern California for a while, then back east to Connecticut and New Hampshire. Then back to the northern tip of Cali and maybe some Colorado action. I can get you honest reviews from very experienced riders from all over. They can hopefully add to the feed back as well. Having access to many different setups for the deck is another tool I have access to, plus my neighbors are gearwhores willing to let me borrow some stuff. The people I know will be dying to try this board and review it. There's even a huge east coast meet where I can get even more reviews. (wheelabrator in new england)

I also have a camera/mount, and case to document me riding the board and putting it through it's paces, as well as documenting the other experienced riders I'll let test it.

Lastly, I'll hopefully be entering a few races back east (east coast standup series hype) and I'd get the opinions of all the riders at the events plus I could maybe even use it.

    Me in cali (evo)

(I'm in 2nd with the black shirt and evo again)

me and my brother back east

I have knowledge of almost every boardsport.

I can pre drift, coleman, pendy, and drift (me and my brother are in 2nd and 3rd all three times because we organized it that way.)

I'm no stranger to speeds over 50 and I know people who I can let test the deck who are well beyond that.

In order to be selected for this particular board testing project, one must be able to understand the building and manufacturing process that goes into each and every deck. One must also possess enough imaginative thinking ability to help develop and create something better than the current, something that will carry on into the future and open up more creative ideas. Skating skills are also another useful skill to have on hand!

I firmly believe that I have all of the previous skills mentioned. I would gratefully accept the offer to test a beta board designed to fit my skating style. The contrast in my skating abilities will provide for an immense amount of thorough testing. I mix the surfing, carving, and pumping that longboards were originally designed for with an old school street style. I’ve named it “Urban Assault”… well I think the name needs some work because I really don’t assault anything, I just use anything possible to skate on, and mix my style on those available spots. The style is all about sliding and skating at fast speeds mixed with quick turns and drifting. I use my board as a mean of transportation, and going fast on flat land is an addiction for me. I don’t spend time trying to mimic other skater’s tricks like the Loaded fan base and followers; I simply stick to my joys, going fast for long periods of time. Using my physical strength training from the weight room carries over when riding my boards and always proves to be a fun and easy workout outside of the gym. In simple terms, a long skateboard, a board that is symmetrical and even with a tail at both ends is the ideal match for this style. Those aspects will allow the board to be ridden in a balanced manner in both directions even after the board completes a 180 degree turn. Concave with no camber will allow my feet to stick while I pull off drifts and long slides.

I can also promise my availability to promote and market the results and changes later on if I were to be selected as a board tester. My beliefs in the longboarding and skateboarding industry have stood strong since I’ve started, and I still believe that collectively, we have one of the most creative and positive groups on the planet. Skateboarding is an art in all aspects, from the people who design and create custom products, to those who create their own peace and love by skating with those custom projects that were created to be ridden by great individuals.

My desire to help our community grow and differ in positive aspects stands second to none. Take time with your decision as you have a great opportunity to select individuals who could help guide our community in taking one step in a better direction, two steps in different way than the rest, and infinite positive steps into the future.

First off, I am a hard working, disciplined, and confident skater who has been ing up the hills and shredding up the skate parks in my area for the last year or so. I am perfect for this because I love to find new spots to ride, and then test my boards and myself with new challenges and styles.
I always like meeting new longboarders, and seeing different setups, and I treat them with the greatest of care. I will be honest and fair with my review and hopefully, will further the production of these boards. Finally, I skate because I love too. I hope to do nothing more than spread the stoke, and help continue to enhance the sport.
