It is. Skogging is the most gnarly thing EVER done on a skateboard. Of course you have to be cYa to ever accomplish the unreal skill that it takes.
As for those fixed pushers, looks like it would be the next big thing in skateboarding. Where can i buy a fix pusher board???

Re: THE FUTURE OF SKATEBOARDING! Holy ####.
Mark's fixed pushing vid absolutely saved my day. ROFL.
By the way, is there a deck length restriction in skogging? You know, with the added space you could take that second cross step and actually complete the trick, but... I guess that wouldn't be allowed, would it?
After all, the purpose of skogging is not to do tricks but to look like a drunk tightrope walker while rolling along on a slalom board.
Man, I never get tired of the skogging threads. It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Hey guys, I invented this new thing.
It's called skopping. It's where you stop skating by foot braking with all two feet. You can even do it from mongo!
The price is 5,000 dollars a lesson, even though you still won't do it like me because I invented it.

None of you asshats are in the hammers shadow but, I will say the new year will bring some forum changes, one of which will be much stricter enforcement of the general anti-hater TOS rules.

I think it looks intriguing - great idea for fitness - that's really one big reason I have been learning LDP. This is another thing, probably totally different muscles too.
That being said - I'm totally not digging the "long extended one-footed carving" thing.
(and all that means is, I personally wouldnt)
Reminds me of when I made the transition from skiier to snowboarder.
My mom signed me up for skiing lessons when I was five - did it my whole life.
Then, snowboards were invented when I was a tween... as a teen I took it up, and was hit with an epiphany:
"snowboarding just FEELS so much more intense than skiing!!" - because you have your whole body and two legs into every single carve - where on skiis you are really weighting on your inside edge of only one foot, on any given carve.
So - I don't want my skateboarding to become "skiing".

duh.
Who wants to teach me how to push? I've got $30 to spend.
Dude, skogging was very easy to learn, I don't get why you need a lesson. It was one of the first things I learned on a longboard, I can push all 4 ways and feel normal on any foot. It just takes practice, balance and determination.

And all these years I thought it was just called pushing!
There is less here than meets the eye...

come PUSH with us and you'll see that the concept of it and the reality of making alternate shifts of weight and carving is where the skog shines. but heyyyy, why yak about it? we're doing it!
we're not talking about pushing down the block, we're talking about keeping a good 8-12mph clip using wiith both legs to shoot down cement for long long long long distances. and then there's the dance, the movement of a waltz on steroids with a funky flair for fun! you may think it's queer but the locals here have found it to be an upcoming movement on the boardwalk.
you don't have to call it "skogging" or "pushing". It's a brand and style trademarked with moves you don't see very often.
and there's a right way to do it and a very "wrong" way to do it. so, with that.. pushing with both legs can be your definition but it may change when you see the big boys do it. it really makes the "mongo" term absurd and quite frankly .. redundant.

This is where you lose me. Isn't skateboarding about doing things your own way? Not trying to mimic how someone else does it? I understand that for it to be called "skogging" it requires you to push all 4 ways... but past that it's up to the individual to interpret it.
If I were to skog, by following the directions on your site, push normal, mongo, switch around, push switch regular, push switch mongo, and alternate... but not in the exact order you do it, or perhaps in a differnt style... maybe throw in a boardwalking trick while alternating stances, maybe push a little more switch than regular to work on my switch riding, or do it a more leisurely pace than you... it wouldn't be skogging?
If so, thats fucking bullshit and skogging can go fuck itself as far as i'm concerned. I don't want to be associated with something that closed-minded.
I'll make my own discipline called "Jogating" (Jog + skating) and teach people to do it..... maybe even teach lessons. It'll take over the jersey shore boardwalks... hahah

the very wrong way to do it leads to eating ####. it's that simple.
no need for me to deal with someone obviously without stoke.
and besides, who are you? what are you good for? bitching seems to be your best skateboarding technique!
it's people like you that love throwing rocks. come on down and skate with us. we'll break you in and show you that your mouth skates better than you!

Get bent. I did an 8 mile pusher last year with exactly two push stances and some old fashioned pumping carves.
And the way you do that little on-the-board bunny hop to switch feet is way beyond "wrong." It's 100% homosexual.
