I did a fair amount of international traveling with my Spooky last year. While i never had any problems in the US just to be safe i took my hardware off and checked it. I was told by officials in germany and morocco that if i would have left the wheels on i would have been out of luck...The french didnt care though...Go figure.. I dont know too much about domestic flying though

Found a Golf bag carrier. Fit the Custom 45 almost perfectly without taking off the trucks.
I crammed the custom 45, a Malakai 40, two blankets, two helmets, two pairs of shoes, and a set a of tools. All checked and arrived without hassle.

Only bummer was having to check it. But with a bag that size I don't know if there was anyway around it.

My brother and I fit a few (3) Downhill decks, a mini, a cruiser, a pool deck and trucks/wheels/bushings/hardware... not to mention safety gear all in a snowboard bag. All the boards were setup as completes too.

I was also carrying a skimboard bag and we both had backpacks (carry-ons) on with skateboards on the back of them. No one said anything other than a few positive compliments to the graphic on my bros CREATURE deck (skeleton smoking a bong)

the extra 10-30$ is worth it.

first off sorry for reviving a nearly dead thread.
but im flying to Pennsylvania on Tuesday and im gonna bring a couple of boards. I want to check my drop speed and carry on my VooDoo XL. the airline im flying on says the over all size of the carry on cant exceed 55inches.they use (length+width+height) as a key. this shouldnt affect me bringing the board on should it?
and im gonna be doing some DH up there so i wanted to bring my helmet but im not sure how to bring it. carry it on or check it?

    Thanks

Wear the helmet, and they'll treat you like something special in the air. J/K! If it fits in a bag, check it in. As far as the 55 inches, I think they may mean 55 cubic inches which is length times width times height, because the last time I flew, the carry-on compartments were not 55 inches in length, they are probably about 35 inches tops, so I would double check that as well. You will most likely need to check it in, and I suggest either some sort of box, skatebag, or if all else fails you could probably use a ski or surfboard bag.

...And am I the only one who thinks it weird that 'new' companies use the 'old' bolt pattern?

I FEEL THE URGE TO START A "PEOPLE WHO HATE ALL THESE 'UNITE' THREADS UNITE", BUT THAT WOULD DEFEAT THE DAMN PURPOSE NOW, WOULDN'T IT?
