This is a thread for all the horror stories, wrecks mainly and general stuff lets say when your truck snapped in half while at a decent speed....etc. Ok heres a couple of mine.

So the other day I was going down this uber tiny hill; like I am talking under 20 mph and it ends in a culdisac so I was going to try out my newly made sliding gloves and try to make the turn. Anyways I was going and started to turn and my board started to slide, so I was thinking alright this cool as long as I don't hit the truck. I was fine but then I just had a glitch and shifted my weight a little forward and...well you can figure the rest the board high sided and threw me off and just scraped up my elbow a little. My pride hurt more than anything lol.

second story

Me and my buddy are doing this small hill in the rain down the road from my house. It was way I learned how to stand up slide, and I am still not that good at it. I was riding down the hill going about 15 and trying to impress my friend at my newly found trick. I tried to frontside basically speed check in a puddle and just ate poo poo. My board decided it didn't want to go with me and sent me flying. Thats when the OH SH!T light came on.

Hmm... How bout the time I was riding down my school's stadium parking lot one Saturday morning because it was so gorgeous out. I was missing snowboarding so I was going just a bit more than a titch faster than I normally would, barely carving at all. I was also wearing my boat shoes which don't have great traction and my board doesn't have great concave. When I decided I should carve off a bit of my speed, I felt like my feet were going to slip off. There's a little loop at the bottom of the lot to a different part. I thought there was a 50 50 chance of me making it around at the speed I was going, given that I can't slide. Finally, I decided to be optimistic and thought I would make it. And I almost did! But then my foot, which was hanging off the board ever so slightly, hit the curb and I stopped immediately, at which point I got slammed straight into the fence. I wish I had footage of that happening...

Long story short, bruises straight down from my hip to knee, shredded arms from elbows to pinkies. And one lip gushing blood. Forgot to get pictures, sorry.

Today, I was riding to class and the route I take goes past some construction. Outside of the construction area, there was a work truck parked on the sidewalk taking up the whole path, except for about a foot and a half of space between the truck and the street. I go pretty slowly (about jogging speed), so I decided to try and squeeze by instead of getting off and walking around. Bad idea. The truck happened to be one of those F-250s with side mirrors that stick out like a foot from the truck, so when I was going by, I tried to lean around it, but that caused my wheel to ride off the curb, catching my trucks. I instinctively grabbed at the closest thing, which was the massive side mirror, but I ended up just smacking it with my hand. I stepped off my board and saw that there was a dude in the truck. I looked at him. He looked at me. I grabbed my board and kept going. It was nuts.

Today I was going over bridge thats pretty decently high and the railing has about a foot of space at the bottom. As I went over I got this bad feeling, cause I knew my board could easily go under and plunge off the bridge to its death into the creek. Right then I notice a huge bump where a piece of wood was turned up. The oh #### light came on. I was able to bail, kind of just dance and run a little and not fall. The board flew off behind me. Then the oh #### light came on again, luckily I looked behind me and the board had missed going off by a few inches and was behind me laying in a pile of leaves.

so i was going down a closed road that i "bomb" every now and then going about 20, so i go down and its really short like 20 seconds, and i didnt think and when there was 5 seconds left, i see a roadblock sign, then the "OH #### light cme on, so i bail, into hard caked mud, and get some scrapes, i got up and laughed at my stupidity

hahaha i was trying to teach my bro how to slide down my driveway today and he lost his balance and quit turning toward the grass and right as he realized this he was like "this isnt gonna be good" like a milisecond later he busted his ass

so im on one if our local hills with some buddies, and i draft my one friend into a left hairpin corner. this is a fast road, and i was doing at least 75 into this corner (basing that off of numerous tail car clockings from previous runs over the year) and as i went to corner, i went to far to the inside.

as i come around the apex, there is a white truck coming right at me, less than 10 feet away. i swerve right and superman off my board, slide belly first across two lanes, into a ditch, and then into the forest down hill. somehow i did a 180 so i went feet first into the forest and i missed all the rocks and trees.

pretty much stared death in the face on that one.

The driver was trying to back into the driveway and had pulled out to re-adjust. When the first guy went to thread the needle between the bumper and the curb the truck was still moving, he fell and blocked the gap. Then there was really no where to go.

The passenger got out with the biggest "Oh Sh!t" face, and his hands on his head. I didnt stick around to talk to the driver.

There was this one time when I replaced the kingpin of my speedboard with a sh*tty kingpin and it broke in two at the run-off, and it suddenly felt sloppy loose all of a sudden. Luckily the hanger didn't fall off

lesson learned: never buy crappy longer kingpins.
