Default First Board Freshly Painted :D

About a week ago I ordered my first longboard I got a KS Scimitar. I ordered it with no logo so I could throw down some custom paint . I am by no means what you would call an artist aha. But through viewing multiple threads and reading up on multiple tuts I decided to undertake the huge challenge of painting the board. I laid down a base coat of black and then for the life of me couldnt decide what to put on the board, I then made up my mind and picked a symbol from thepiratebay.org (a torrent site) to stand for free speech and horseshit like that ha. So I made the stencil myself and got to work. and heres how it came up.
    I used Krylon Spray
    Homemade Stencil
    Minwax Polyurethane.
    Taping

    Painting

    Stencil

Now the board is curing as we speak
Ill post pics when it is all together!

using higher grit sandpaper would have made it a little smoother especially if you sanded inbetween coats of black, looks good though

atta boy!! It gets addicting though and each one will be better. When it's all done and put together, try taking pics early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the sun is low.

I'll be looking for final pics and your impression on first rides.

heh, heh.. that's about 1/3 of the state Your Scimmy came out very clean. If you get froggy, you could always do something with those top plates. Maybe black with a like a red pin stripe down the center or something. wut? do I hear the gears whirring in that head?

You could just spray paint it... or stain. Whatever's handy or blows your skirt up.

Oh wait!! Did you ride it? Don't worry about the creaking. Everybody gets it, some are concerned. I was at first. One of the groms riding my stuff this summer said it must be why it's called Kracked Skulls. It mellows/almost goes away eventually. I'm pretty sure it's from the top plate bolted to the ends. I came to that conclusion when I had similar creaks from my Demon with whiplash guards which is a metal plate like the KS wood one.
