    Default Viper

Well, my favorite sports car as of late would still have to be the american muscle of the V-10 viper, so when I saw a video of it being pitched up aganced a farrai, I had to watch. Little did I know I was about to cry....

I didn't watch it, but I'm guessing it's the cliff video.

Wow! what a wipeout! To be fair, vipers are primitive old school sports cars in modern clothing. They don't have ABS, AWD, traction control, or any computers controlling torque distribution (at least the factory/street versions don't) that means you have to bring some skills to the table. If you can't keep a car on the road, it's your fault, not the cars.

but if the wieght in your car is unevenly distributed then you shouldn't be driving it balls out on mountain roads. Unless its a porsche of course.

The Ferrari in that video is pretty old, with no fancy features either. You can't blame a lack of technology. Isn't the fastest car round the 'Ring an oldish Porsche? The fact is that the Viper is just a crap car...But that doesn't mean I don't want one

Unless you can drive the car well. Almost all cars are unevenly distributed when it comes to weight so what you said doesn't make sense. From what I've read the viper is unforgiving to say the least. The driver made a mistake and paid for it.

Wasn't blaming the lack of technology, just the drivers lack of skill and situational awareness, no amount of high tech doodads or horsepower can replace seat time. Plenty of high dollar cars with ABS this and stability control that find their way to the bottoms of the canyons out here. As far as the f355 being old, they started making them in 93/94, that ain't old (at least not to me). I wouldn't call the Viper a CRAP car, but it is overrated and doesn't have the level of development that a car in its price range should have. Since Mercedes owns Dodge it would be cool to see a viper worked over by AMG.

The Viper is a sweet car, but I don't why you would choose that when you can get a Corvette for under $70,000 with matching power. Heck, I don't know why you would buy any supercar over the Vette unless you have loads of money to throw away.

Maybe you want something that can turn as well? Then you could save yourself even more money and get a Lotus Exige.
