    Default Zee quiver grows

Got this a lil earlier today.A 7'4", probably perfect to learn to surf on down here in S.fla. Used, but is in great condition.Always wanted to learn how to surf and what a better time to buy a board than right after surfworlds version of black monday and before all the prices get screwey..and yea that's a curve down low.

Nice board. That should be good to learn on, but its gonna be squirley at first. Once you get the hang of it you should be fine....go skate down some small hills with reallllllly loose trucks for practice

If you want something even easier to learn on, look for a board about the same length with a wider tail...the width of the tail could be compared to wheelbase...the shorter (narrower) it is, the easier it is to turn.

Now that you've stepped into the water, you prolly won't be able to get out. That looks like a pretty fun shape and a sturdy board to learn on. After you pick it up, I suggest you look for "your" board, the one that really gives you the freedom in the water. I know you're new to surfing, and you couldn't help it but here's a heads up. "Blue" are shapes put out by GSI (global surf industries), they are a high production, child slaving, "live for the buck" overseas industry. They create shapes that are exact replicas of designs kicked out by good shapers, and don't actually give any consideration to what they are kicking out. Definitely check out your local shapers and where your board is coming from. You can get exactly what you need and you'll know that nothing was completely exploited in the process. Plus, most of them are wise and way sweet to surf with. It's like shoping for a skate, and you don't just want to buy some plastic board from Wal Mart because the price is right. Just work a couple more weeks and support a good, clean company instead of the one drooling over American consumption. Just thought I'd let you know. But anywho, I guess I'm done hootin, have fun in the mean time and don't stop living.

I wouldn't worry about the whole Clark train wreck. It's a truly sad situation, but someone will step back up to the plate to get foam back into the shops. It is wild to see CI flyer used start at 450 and then within a week kick the price up to 6. Craziness!

Yea, I figured out that it's one of those factory boards. But right now I wouldn't beable to appreciate a handshaped custom anyway.

Do you know of any online shops such as MHM for surf equipment?

I might get a Lycra rash guard to keep warm. Even though the water is 75* the chilly wind doesn't help.

there are shops everywhere online...seriously though...look for the shops in your area. I'm positive there are guys that will hook you up with good advice, if you're willing to receive it. Ya the northeast is crazy cold in winter. I lived in RI for school a couple years ago and I remember surfing in about 41 degree water. Pretty much you avoid diving at all costs or suffer a minute long ice cream headache. Craziness. Now that I'm back in Cali, the water is about 53...not too bad and the booties can still stay at home.

Yea I guess I'll prolly hit up local shops, better to see clothes in person anyway to try them on.

Went out today to give it a try. Got my butt tossed around for a lil bit. It was a little too rough for me though. Waves not too big 3-4ft but coming every 3 seconds, made it a bit difficult and paddlin was biotch too. The years of being able to pull hours of swimming are gone with the days of high school swim team Half an hour was enough but tomorrow's another day and another wave
