Now that you've stepped into the water, you prolly won't be able to get out. That looks like a pretty fun shape and a sturdy board to learn on. After you pick it up, I suggest you look for "your" board, the one that really gives you the freedom in the water. I know you're new to surfing, and you couldn't help it but here's a heads up. "Blue" are shapes put out by GSI (global surf industries), they are a high production, child slaving, "live for the buck" overseas industry. They create shapes that are exact replicas of designs kicked out by good shapers, and don't actually give any consideration to what they are kicking out. Definitely check out your local shapers and where your board is coming from. You can get exactly what you need and you'll know that nothing was completely exploited in the process. Plus, most of them are wise and way sweet to surf with. It's like shoping for a skate, and you don't just want to buy some plastic board from Wal Mart because the price is right. Just work a couple more weeks and support a good, clean company instead of the one drooling over American consumption. Just thought I'd let you know. But anywho, I guess I'm done hootin, have fun in the mean time and don't stop living.
I wouldn't worry about the whole Clark train wreck. It's a truly sad situation, but someone will step back up to the plate to get foam back into the shops. It is wild to see CI flyer used start at 450 and then within a week kick the price up to 6. Craziness!
