    Very cool.

    Would any of the Colorado heads be interested in something like that here?

    ..it is my understanding that this is what DH wants to start..everywhere. Uniting kick flippers and cone heads together. Get the youth (kick flippers) into slalom and visa versa. (also the older kick flippers who have not tried coning)
    I think he mentioned this on NCDSA in a thread or two.

    Park Slalom is a kick in the shorts! We do one at the All-Around Challenge every year. It's nuts to see the way some people will get around a cone.

    Its something I've really been jonesing for, the two disciplines come together remarkably well! Wish it was done more up in my neck of the woods, I've only got to try it a hand full of times... and only once competitively.

    FRom time to time I take my cones to our local park and me and a bunch of the Team Geritol crew tape them up on the transitions and through the street course. We run em as fast as we can and will usually end up in a kind of race with everyone going at once and trying to keep up with the person in front of them. It really is a lot of fun, it adds another elelment to bowl skating that is a refreshing break from the routine of trying the same tricks over and over.

    Create it!
    All you need are kegger cups and duct tape, and a couple of friends. Instant race.

    sounds like a knee slapping good time but the parks around here are made strickly for street skaters . There might be like a huge halfpipe a handful of quarters and like 60 rails 30 picnic tables and more boxes than you could shake a stick at.

    Any transition, flat, or "non-rail" surface will work. You say half-pipe, I say at least three cones. Quarter-pipe? That's a cone.

    Which reminds me of a story;

    One year in Burque, we had this cone about 8" down from the coping on a short tombstone section. A lot of people were doing scary carves to kill it, many did one-wheel-pivots/axle twists.
    Budro was the only one to say "oh****thisshit" and pull a 3' air over the cone.
    Didn't win him any time, but the style-point props went a long way. 8)
