Do me a favor and look it up before you call me a retard. Rocket propulsion falls under the broad category of jet propulsion. Although the principal of rocket propulsion is that it carries all expulsorary (sp?) gases and emissions onboard and the commonly used term of jet propulsion (which most people generally use to refer to ramjet and turbojet) follows the concept of faster expulsion than intake both are in fact jet propulsion in the generic sense. Jet propulsion simply means that the propulsion system follows Newton's 3rd law (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). In other words...through the explusion of gases out the back, forward motion is acheived. Therefore, rocket propulsion is infact a subcategory of jet propulsion despite the common association of "jet" to ram and turbo jet....

Despite that rant...i could be wrong and the luge may not actually be rocket powered.

Now back to the cute kid chewing on things...

well actually, there is a guy named billy copeland that made a rocket powered luge, he used actual solid propellant hobbie rocket engines on the back of his streetluge

bob however uses a jet turbine engine created by the company jetcat that produces high thrust remote control airplane and hobbie engines, if i remember correctly his engine puts out somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 pounds of thrust......and is a true jet turbine engine, not a rocket

is this how we destroy a fun thread? It is a Jet (a single stage centrifigal compressor/ axial turbine.type jet engine) 52lbs of thrust @112,000 rpm.
