Dogg's birthday was last weekend, so we piled into the KOS command bus and met the shadies WAY out in the burbs for a day of skating and cake. Except there was no cake. Dogg's nephew Sammy took his first ride followed by his first spill and took it like it was nothing and kept on skating! What an awesome kid! Watch out Adam and Adam!
No fancy tricks or nothin, just a real chill day on butter smooth pavement. Being a seattle skater, I always forget how nice it is to ride on good pavement, and notice there's NO PARKING on the side of the street out there! Crazy! They put a little yellow paint down and people actually park their cars in their driveways and garages! Just so trippy to have all that room. If i had grown up skating the burbs instead of the urban jungle, I might be halfway good by now.
Speed is possible too, because there's hardly any traffic. I think people just sit inside and play Xbox or something. Look how DEAD the streets are! Where are the people? I'm jealous of the streets you suburbanites have, but your empty zombie towns freak me completely out. Everything is brand new. There isn't a 2 yr old house in the whole complex. Even the paint on the streets is perfect and brand new. No tire scuffs or nothing. It's so, so, WHITE!!!
Oh, and I got a new skate helmet so this is one of the rare moments when you'll see me wearing one of the nasty things. I still hate em' but I gotta set a good example for the up n' coming bunch, right?
Have a great week and peace out.
