well my friend elee may have broken his leg cause when the guy slammed on the brakes elee was right behind him and hit the car luckily i was thinkin quick and went between the 2 cars in the middle of the road but i do understand it was a little bit of a badtime to go but there was noone behind us when we started this guy pulled out of another road and accelerated from behind and tried to pass on a DOUBLE YELLOW LINED road and had no reason to slam on the brakes at the bottom....so no i dont agree with fishguy...

im just agreeing with him on that fact that it was bad timing and probably not the smartest decision at that time. but shiiite man, a broken leg? thats a downer.

Dude that sucks. Thats exactly what happened to me last semester, except my fall was into a concrete side barrier, I have a broken middle finger to show for it. The dickwad slowed down right in front of me, i tried to go left and he veered into the middle lane forcing me to crash.

I'll tell you what man... ...people get hurt when they are doing things that they shouldn't be doing.
You and your buddies were skating in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Who do you think has the right-of-way in that situation? ...cars or skateboarders?

In NY this would be vehicular assault on a pedestrian (skateboarders are allowed to glide with traffic)

definitely scary, ive been in situations like that-a few of them much worse, actual car impacts at much higher speeds on mountain roads

Also, you post it on Break hoping to hit homepage to make 400 bucks because your buddies board got ran over? In the video at the end it looks completely fine, normally a topmount would crack if ran over, and in the rare event it didn't your axles would probably be bent, which they look completely fine.

Whatever though, take it to the police.

I mean I'm a driver and I would never do stupid #### like that to a skateboarder or a biker. No matter who has the right of way or whatever. It doesn't matter who has the right of way. The driver could have KILLED the guy. Not only that but he wouldn't have given two shits about it. He would've just though "durr.. one less stupid skater punk on the streets."

Honestly, in situations like that I get the 9/16th wrench that I have in my pocket and I THROW it.

But then again people in the states have guns. I live in Canada.

yea i was concentrating on not dieng cause i had to snake between 2 cars but those signs dont exist i lied to try and make my case seem more firm then it actually was...there is a sticker on the stop sign up on the top of the hill that says notice longboarding allowed in this area and were there so often that people should have figured it out by now...but regardless of whatever the facts are that guy is an asshole and karma is a bitch

im gonna have to agree with Fishguy a bit on this one, from what i can tell that street looked busy as hell. and id have to say it wasnt a good call to hit that at least at that time. now, of course, the driver had no right to try and pass you on such a busy road, and hes an effin idiot for doing so. regardless...u must have understood the risk you were taking seein as you were wearing helmets and wat not. but you just have to try to do you're best to plan for the unexpected. hell i go so far as to assume s--- like that will happen and do my best to figure out multiple "escape plans" if you will. in the end though, im glad you guys made it through mostly unharmed and am even happier you go that idiots plates on film. wish ya guys a speedy recovery!

Even if you were skating illegally, it's pretty obvious which is "more wrong." What would you get, a slap on the wrist, MAYBE a ticket? He'd likely be going to jail for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, hit and run, and some other moving violations or something.
