North Georgia - Powerhouse Road [Series of Pictures]]

I apologize for the cameraphone pics, but it was all I had at the time and I might not get a chance to document this for a while.

The site is at Buford Dam, north of Atlanta.

Approximately 1/2 mile long. From the top of the dam to the bottom. Just a "dam" good road to free ride. The gate at the top gets closed at the end of the summer. All fall, no vehicles allowed. The left dogleg at the bottom gets hairy at higher speeds, but at least it has a little bit of bank to it. If you can pre-drift it, you are good for 20-25mph around that twist easily. I checked it today, still open. Can't wait till they gate this thing. They are late closing it this year.

Is this road going to be opened back up to cars sometime soon? I asked this in the ATL thread, but haven't gotten an answer yet.

Its open to cars now. They are late closing it this year. That's how i got the pics yesterday.

Tim, there are things in the works that you don't know about for Powerhouse Road. I am working with ACE to gain LEGAL access to the road in the off season while it is closed to car traffic. The entire road is being repaved after they complete some improvements at the base of the dam.

There is a ton of stuff in GA waiting to be found... I got some spots near the SC border and I know yall got some on the other side but i think there is a lot of unexplored area in the middle.
