Learn To Ride A Skateboard

During the summer of 2007, I decided to make an instructional skateboarding video. Having done a lot of professional video production work, this wasn't just going to be pulling out the home movie camera and posting clips on YouTube. Nope. This was a full on production, with professional skaters, and celebrity-kids as the students. I was going to do it right.

The end result was Learn To Ride A Skateboard - a DVD over an hour long, covering the basics of skateboarding with more detail than any other skate video ever made. (It does focus on pool/street boards and doesn't cover longboarding. But, obviously, a lot of the basic and beginner concepts are all the same.)



Moreover, I did NOT make this video for profit. People never understand that. They always ask why I'd spend all the time and effort and money out of my own pocket, just to give it away for free. Well, the answer is simple - Some people think it is "fun" to spend a ton of money to go on a vacation. To me, it was a ton of fun to spend money on making a skateboarding video! So I did.

You can even download the video for free to burn your own DVD and you are ENCOURAGED to copy the DVD and share it with your friends! 8)

Wow that great man. it must have been a ton of work, but i bet is rewarding. Do you ever wonder if tht kid keept riding and saw this and could go on to be pro. i bet tht would be sick. thanks for making such a great dvd.

Yes, it was a ton of work. I always get myself involved in these huge projects that I think, "Oh, that will be easy. Should only take 2 or 3 months work."

Then, it's usually finished about 6 or 8 months later.

But, as you said - very rewarding. I mean, it's almost 2 years old and I still get people telling me how much they liked it and how it helped them learn. So, that's really neat.

Awesome. Thank you. I hope you enjoy it. I literally just got back from the Post Office to send out this weeks orders. So, even though it says "2 to 3 weeks for delivery" on the site, you might have it by Monday or Tuesday.

I don't want any misunderstanding but what I was trying to say came out completely wrong. What I meant is some things are meant to be learned by determination not by a guide, manual or videos. Wouldn't you feel more rewarded if you learned how to do something without the aid of anything
