Re: Behold, The Scarpar
This is amazing, i need one
i wonder how fast it could go on pavement
edit:
"Probably will be governed to 28mph (45kmh) based on legal advice
The power train is theoretically capable of 50mph (80kmh) but we won't be enabling this!

Re: Behold, The Scarpar
Looks awesome if you like going straight.
I know its the prototype - and the longer its out the more insane people will get on it - but it still looks boring.
Do your part to fight the war on drugs...grow your own

Re: Behold, The Scarpar
I could see myself paying up to $700 for that, but would probly never get one unless it was below$500.
If they could get the speed up a little, like on a flat dirt road, get to like 35 or 40, and make it turn just a bit tighter, I'd be on that thing like white on rice.

what did you expect? i don't think much else is going to fit on there while conserving weight. Apparently they are making a performance model (lulz) that will go 50mph. there was a mention about it in their faqs. Currently i think goes 35mph

Re: Behold, The Scarpar
Would definitely rather spend a few more bucks and get a dirtbike, something that can actually get up to speed and go anywhere that that board can go.

wow, the inventor is the fastest snowboarder...
Highest Speed on a Snowboard
The highest recorded speed by a snowboarder is 201.907km/h (125.459mph) by Darren Powell (Australia) at Les Arcs, France on 2 May 1999.
can't find a video...
============
looks like they are trying to bring it to market...
not much info on how it steers..
An engine powers both tracks. The first release model is a 4 stroke . Brakes and acceleration are via a hand controller. For those engineers out there, you can imagine that getting power from the horizontal crankshaft to both articulating tracks is no mean feat. The specifics of the vehicle's design (tracks, steering geometry, construction, drive line, etc) are the subject of current and future patents.

the reason why i didn't post in that thread is because this video was recently released... well semi recently. thread resurrection is a no no.

Re: Behold, The Scarpar
Really?
I love doing that.
You take a thread from way back when, and BOOM. It's back again.
