Default Technique to prevent speed wobbles?

Hey, I am new to longboarding. Everyone says if you are speed wobbling below 30 mph?, that its more cause of your technique rather than your board?

Well, whats the proper technique/stance that you should be in if you are going ~20mph down a street with like a 5-10% grade?

riding through speed wobbles is one of the scariest experiences of my life...going 30 mph after boarding for a month and getting wobbles so bad the board is moving 3 feet laterally..i just spread out my legs, crouched, and prayed for my life

close your eyes tight, cross your legs and bend like your sitting indian style, and lean way back putting all of your weight on the tail.....yeah , prob actually dont want to do that.... spread your legs, crouch down lowering your center of gravity, stick out a hand to the ground (if you have on gloves) for stability and speed controle if you really feal your going down. but dont use it as a crutch!!!

as far as stance, take a look at some of the Original longboard vids on youtube and try and re create their stance to see if thatll work for you

    Off road wheels sucked balls.

Do you know how to shutdown slide or control your speed? If not then that could be the reason you have weak confidence and you are getting wobbles...
If I am skating a spot I have never been to before then I will take a few practice runs to gain confidence then go balls out like I am used to doing..

I think its about having confidence with your skills, your board and the course...
    Do epic sh1t

Having confidence in your skills is reaaly important, If you are kinda scary and thinking you're gonna fall or something like that, your fear, it makes you woble. But when you're confident and determined to reaaly increase speed, wishing to go faster with your board, you will have less woble and maybe you won't have any. Its in your mind that power, but you can have the ability of staying stable too.

Like Jhoemer said, when you have a new skating spot, the first runs will be slow because your checking the track, checking the track's speed, but after those few runs, you will go down those hills or spots like crazy, because you already know it, you gain confidence and you go down without any problems.

try killing the angle on your back truck. Maybe you prefer split (or more split angles) and you dont even know it. I ride 55* front and 28* back.

Good tuck & good confidence. Tighten your trucks a bit too.

The other day I bombed a 15-20% grade and I only started to get the speed wobbles at about 40 after I hit a small crack in the road, but my trucks were to loose and I wasn't in the speed tuck, so If your getting them below 30 I'm gonna bet its your board is too loose or too flexy.

There are no speed wobbles. Just involuntary pumping.
