Default Longboard for a big guy 5'8" 285

    Hey. im a big dude (5' 8" 285lb)
and im looking for my first longboard
i've been looking at sector9, Fullbag, Gravity, landyachtz, and flexdex.(anything is open for consideration)
im Actually Pressd for cash so anything under $150 would be plausible.(maybe $170)
I dont really want anything to flexy or soft, and i wont be doing any 'cool' tricks(unfortunately, for now at least) so i just want something basic that would support my weight.
Any help you guys could provide would be great
    Thanks in advance.

    Mile High Skates

madrid boards are quite solid, this is a complete set up within your budget range
    otherwise
i can attest to the fullbag speedcarver, and its rock solid as well

You might look into the Kracked Skulls. And any custom board maker can probably beef something up to suit your needs, but that probably means more money too.

I'm close to your weight, and last week I bought an Earthwing Supercharger and couldn't be happier. I love it - nice size, very good quality, with just a tad bit of flex under my fat ass.

I went with Indy 215's and 70mm/81a Superballs, and total was about $175, including shipping.

Edited to add that I threw a wedged riser on the nose today, and boy is that thing fun! It takes on a whole new feel.

I weigh in at 265 pounds, nekkid.

I notice you want to stay under $150. Milehighskates has one setup with Ace's and bombers that would keep you close to your limit:

    Mile High Skates

I like it with the indy 215's, but that will put you a few bucks higher. However, that's not to say that other setups aren't just as good, especially for just cruising. The Randalls are good, as are MHS's "Frankentrucks," as well as the Aces. It all boils down to personal preference at the end.

    I sell a board for $160 complete plus $20 shipping so $180

This comes with a custom stain/paint and logo color. Also it comes with your choice of clear, black or "target black" grip tape. This is then polished up to a nice mirror finish which is always cool

It is a 4 ply of 1/8" BB (12 ply) but for your weight I can make it a five ply of 1/8" BB (15 ply) for no extra charge, yes it will definitely hold and it is perfect for a beginner (and it looks good too) You can do a variety of things on this board from just cruising to dancing to some moderate downhill bombing

i like the way that sounds, and id much prefer giving my money to a 'small buisness' man, but like i said i'll have to do some more looking around and check with my 'finaciers' aka parents and see what the deal is.

Gravity Hypercarve with Randal 180`s and their new High-Grade wheels.

    GRAVITY SKATEBOARDS | HYPER-CARVE 2

    That`s $150...

It`s important you choose those wheels I mentioned if you`d choose a HC, as all of their other soft wheels suck.

On my board I can run 75mm wheels with out a problem. I weigh 130 though so it's a bit different. I am pretty sure that you would be able to get away with 75mm wheels as well though especially with the extra deep wheel well on my board. I would suggets either o'tangs or bigzigs, both are excellent wheels.
