Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
I would most definitely go for the Roggs (I own the Jr Dancer). The only reason I personally would get the Loaded Dancer because its video is what got me into longboarding. Yeah, nostalgic.
Anywho, Randal 180 Trucks with both hangars flipped with 90a Venom Eliminators Top and Bottom. Bones Reds and 78a Flashbacks (70mm).
I recommend a softer duro wheel so you'll have a plusher and more enjoyable ride. Bushings are all preference. and stock bushings will be fine. You can't go wrong with either Paris or Randal trucks.

I definitely know what you're talking about; the Loaded Dancer video was my first "wow i gotta learn how to do that." lol
When you say softer duro, how soft are you talking about?

Mine is set up as follows: Randal 42's (18" shock pad)...Venom standards (90a)...Orange Otang 4Prezzies...
What does the 42 refer to???
Any opinions about risers? What exactly do they do? (Obviously besides raising the board)

If you're not looking into sliding (on a dancer which I doubt you are) I say 78a (which are the duro of my wheel. It's soft enough to absorb rough roads. I recently bought a used set of 75a Gumballs and they're chunked quite a bit but I don't know what wear and tear they were put through. Once you start hitting the 80a's they begin to be rough. Althought my set of Orange Orangatang Inheats (81a I think) are alright. I've been told that 86a Retro ZigZags are a nono for bad pavement.
Oh and haha it's good that you do! I might wait till I get better though since I don't want to trash that board.
The 42 refers to the degree of the baseplates. I have mine with 50 degree baseplates but 42 is lower for sure. Hopefully someone will come in here and give you a better rundown.
def go for the roggs!!! support the smaller builders. loaded is good, but for a dancer it is wayyyyy overpriced. As for baseplate angles, 42 or 50 degree trucks will be fine. A smaller angle adds for stability at high speeds, but on ur dancin board i doubt u'll feel that much difference. I highly recommend holey trucks. And I have 75a duro wheels on my dancer to make for a nice ride. def something in the upper 70s will be suitable. And a soft riser (or shock pad) is a soft riser that basically acts as shock absorbers and will make ur ride smoother if u hit any small bumps or imperfections in the road. they're cheap and effective...get em
