Riding rough pavement?

With those 1" offsets, i have noticed that with enough speed, you can just ride through the grass to avoid it, this may be harder that it sounds.

well for the rough pavement, i ride almost always broken pavement. You get very very used to it. Also try learning how to de-weight over cracks/slab-height differences. You can usually get a little hop in and the board bounces over the crack. (This works excellent is deck runs over expansion joints, plus is a load of fun if u can hop the board kinda high)

Do you need a lotta of flex in the board for 'hopping'?
My Comet FSM does not bend much.
Or is it just lots of practice.

no flex nessisary (my board is stiff). You just have to time perfectly so the when you are de-weighted from the board the front wheel hits and pops up over the obstruction. To get both over perfect de-weight for long enough so both wheels get over said obstruction.
