Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
hey, since we have a gravity insider here, can you comment on when the new boards are coming out (jute carver, drop through, & speedboard)?
Being mostly a traditional park/trick guy I'm not really an authority on them types of boards, but when I was out there last week I did however get to demo one of the drop through prototypes on Randal with Gravity Hi-Grades. It was the first time I ever really rode a dropped downhill rig on true gnar hills and I’m HOOKED HOOKED HOOKED. I’ve been BEGGING Breamo to ship me one from the first run when it’s finished. (between the team and all the first run is going to get snapped up quick!)
Pssst Breamo… That’s the drop through on Randals with Gravity Hi Grades. And please ship it overnight express.
Hey Army, the three inch trucks are tons of fun on the halfpipe, instead of a grind you're on one wheel buzzing the coping.
SICK! I'm picturing those old photos of Tom Sims and Ed Economy pulling edgers on 50” boards with tiny trucks and huge wheels: so much style. I have to try it.

Ok, so I went to the local board shop, and saw a board and I think i instantly fell in love with it.
55" Ed Economy, I mean its bigger, but I am a bigger guy.
Any thoughts on this one? The hypercarve looked a little lacking in width for my taste.
For a big dude you can't go wrong with the EE; Ed is also a big guy and he designed it to ride... Great for fighting off hordes of zombies too. Moreover, once you've worn it out it's still a great chuck of wood that can be cut down a recycled into a new shape. Green feet.
Now I wish I had! But I'm back in Austin Texas and Breamo/Gravity are out in the San Diego area.
To be honest when Breamo took me out to shoot hills I tried to shine riding a drop though preferring to stay in my comfort zone of a kicktail and small hard wheels (Mini carve, ACES, and Gravity Snaps) But Bream was relentless and after awhile convinced me to take some runs on a the aforementioned prototype. I now see the light on the whole drop through buzz; So much crazy fun to own that much control sliding! Can't wait to be the first kid on my block to have one!

oneee more question for ya... i impulsively bought a mini carve a few months ago, how do you recommend keeping the grip on the little foam kick tail on? the whole things about to pop off, gorilla glue a new one with grip or what?

If it’s a question of keeping the whole foam kick tail on Gorilla Glue works well. Although I hate having to wait for the glue to fully cure, so I’ve also re-attached foam tails with a couple of short wood screws and washers; works good if you don’t want to wait on glue drying.
If it’s just keeping grip tape on the foam tail I just replace it now and again, make sure the tail is clean and just slap on a new scrap. Hope that helps?
