Default Cheaper dervish alternatives for a poor kiwi?

Hello silverfishlongboarding, this is my first post

I am looking for a cheap alternative to the loaded dervish, as it would cost me $600-720 to get it here in New Zealand.
I like carving and cruising, would eventually like to slide, and dance, and improve my pumping.
The never summer heist caught my eye but I had concerns that it may be too weak for me? (I am 6"0 and 200lbs (90kg) if I'm having a bad week)

I own a S9 Gremmie, and its just not my style.

So I come asking for help from the community that knows a lot more than me, could I have some suggestions from the stock of Stoked Skateboards and Daddies Board Shop that will suit me but be cheaper than a dervish.

You might be interested in the Comet FSM, it has less flex than the Heist.

I heard about that one, did a look around and it turned out to be more expensive than a Dervish, or close to it.

I doubt that the FSM is more expensive than the Dervish. I'm also 6' tall and 200 lbs (before lunch), and the FSM is something that I highly recommend. Its great for our weight, with just a slight amount of flex so you can still handle speeds.

A few other options would be the KrackedSkulls Scimitar or M1. Would cost you about US$150 for a complete with Randals and your choice of Retro/Abec11 wheels straight from the site.

The BCLongboards Eel is also a good alternative (Bryant Cooper Longboards: Boards), and I heard that Gravity is coming out with a drop-through that is similar in shape. You can wait for that one too, as Gravity is a well-respected brand that makes really sturdy boards.
    I like spaghetti.

The new heist has a stronger flex option.

But KrackedSkulls makes a great board too. Or Comet FSM

How would it be $700 to get a Dervish? Extra shipping cant be that much??

kiwifish...get the fsm straight from comet.shipping was about 50 USD. My bf brought it over here for about AUD380.

boardshop.com.au does ship to NZ and i doubt it'll even reach the 600 mark

EDIT: and that was for a complete fsm

yeah i believe so cuz that range is $390-$470 USD which sounds more realistic if u calculate shipping from the west coast all the way to NZ

Dervish in the local surfshop here in Australia.
    $675

It used to be that you could get US shipping reasonably cheap from Daddies and LBS,.. but 18months ago the USPS changed their prices and it got way too expensive.
Plus the package has to be under 42 inches, or its got to go FEDex or UPS...... and that costs TONS more.

Our dollar is worth less than the US dollar too, but not by that much. You can get a Dervish online in Oz complete for $450-500, Id say NZ is similar in price.

Sector 9s are coming in cheaper now,... but that is Billabong structuring a better local price.

    Concerning the Heist:
Never Summer is offering a stiffer flex option (as mentioned above). Though it isn't mentioned on their site (at least I can't find it) but they have said that they are doing it on the forum.

Also concerning flex and weight, leadfoot weighs around your weight and owns a Heist. Last time I spoke to him he really liked the board.
So the board can handle any weight, it's just a matter if you like how the board handles with your weight on it, meaning flex.

I really dig the Heist, but with the whole shipping situation, I'd say whichever deck you like and can find cheapest is good.

But are they too legit? Too legit to quit? I used to be too legit to quit. Now I'm not legit. I'm unlegit. And for that reason I must quit.

Looks like i have some good options,
    From the US:
    Neversummer Heist (Approx 415NZD)
    Comet FSM (Approx 430NZD)

    NZ Made:
    Sugar Boards
    Pulse Longboards
    Bombardier Longboards

I'm probably looking for something with enough flex to pump and be a smooth ride, but not enough to bottom out with my weight.
A little bit of concave would be preferred too, as I slip off my current board easily.
