    Default Board Shape Questions?

I am relatively new to longboarding but have a lot of standard skateboard experience. I have searched the forum but can't find a thread describing the pros and cons of the different deck shapes available. I bought a Sector 9 Mundaka because it had a tail that most resembled a standard skateboard. I see a lot of pintail, drop through, and other styles that have have very little tail and/or nose. How does the shape change the feel of the ride and what do you give up by not having a functional tail or nose? Thanks.

Decks with little to no nose or tail tend to be stiffer and designed more for higher speeds.

This is being overly general but probably holds true most of the time.

You don't need kicks to manual. You can manual a Loaded Vanguard. It's just more difficult.

sometimes boards with no tails are meant for carving or bombin hills.
