    Default Too much flex!

So, my friend received his first longboard today, The never summer heist complete off daddiesboarshop with the 77mm wheels and the board is too flex for him. We tried tightening the trucks (paris 180s) but the result is horrible, so we're back to loosening the trucks.

He weights about 175 pounds. Myself, as a fatter guy, about 190 pounds, rode his board and was deffinately scared of bottoming up while pumping and carving, especially rail bite (I think). He read alot about the board before buying it and it felt like the flex was an okay flex for a 170 pounder, as seen on youtube videos.

I am currently wondering if there are any tips on getting the board to flex some less while riding. Any riding or technical advices would be great.

Also, if anyone riding the Heist with his weight could write about it I'd be glad, thanks!

p.s: I dont know if there is such a thing as the blue Heist but he said so, and though he'd be getting the blue heist since it was supposed to be less flexible.

I just got my Heist in the mail yesterday.

I weigh in at 200-205 lbs. I love the board. I carve and pump it all over the place and don't ever scrape or get rail bite. I got it with the Randal 180 and 78a Gumballs. Rides like a dream.

The blue Heist is a stiffer version.

I don't know where you put your feet on the board, but I put them right inside the trucks for less flex... don't stand in the middle.

you could fiberglass the deck, try calling daddiesboardshop and see what they say, or redrill the wheelbase inwards maybe 3/4" or so on each side and topmount it.

Aw, so there is such a thing as the blue heist, I hope he will adapt to the board then, or maybe could he send the board back to daddiesboardshop?
Because He really bought the custom complete - Blue, but then got the regular version. How easy is dealing with them?

Were in canada if it helps, hope its not a problem!

Its all about how you ride it. I have a heist and the bottom is all scraped up because I bottom it out a lot with my style of riding. i weigh 170.
i thought a speedring was some sort of special condom at first, but I was wrong lol

Putting fiberglass on the bottom isn't that simple of a process.
Check the Board Building forum for more details, but be prepared to spend a fair amount of money getting some equipment/materials that you might not even use again if you want to take this route.
