Default Flush mount vs Drop Thru

I'm looking at the Comet Loki, and I was wondering how a drop through compares to a flush mount. Any differences in ride etc?

you'll be lower to the ground. means that you'll have a more stable ride and easier push

I think a flush mount would feel like a drop through, yet ride like a top mount o.O Someone needs to correct me on this lol

Flush top mount provides better cornering, more traction and less grip. Better if you will be pairing it with precisions (generally.)

Drop through will be more drifty, easier to push, theoretically more stable.

I'd go flush with the Loki. Just preference.

I don't know your riding disciplines but I would say the flush-mount would be the better choice. The flush-mount will still give you a height lower than a regular top-mount, but without and possible fitting or cracking problems commonly associated with drop-throughs. you'll also have a lesser chance of wheelbite for bigger wheels than you would with the drop-through.

Flushmount would also be easier to maintain sometimes, like when switching trucks I suppose? You may or may not have to take off the hangars, but with the drop-through you always will have to. Also with the flush-mount, you get to have your feet over the bolts and therefore have more footspace, whereas the drop-through will have the truck baseplates sticking out.

HOWEVER I have not personally ridden this board or any Comets, I'm sure they are designed to not get wheelbite (unless you have like 97mm wheels) with any of their mounting, I'm just covering the possibilities.

I'm thinking about the Loki too, and I would like to try flush-mounting. I'm worried about the longevity of my Hustler sometimes, especially after the first curbing left a crack from the tip to the truck cut-outs.

Depends on your setup. If you run Randal 42s I would go flush, and 50s or 35s I would go drop through.

The difference in height with a flush mount to a normal mount is minimal from what I've seen probably the height of a shock pad.
