this two is my choice : sector9 (the godness) and sector9 (bamboo series "the sunset")

    so wich one is better?

    bamboo series "the sunset"

    "the godness"

hope u guys can help me
    cheers 8)

Sunset is lower and has more flex, so its better for carving, sliding, cruising
    OR
The goddess is stiffer and is better for downhill and some cruising

i would go with the sunset, but get a parts seperate, not the stock sector 9 one

You guys seem like the best resource on the web, so I was hoping on some advice for a first longboard.

Looking for something to commute with,
    $150 or less
    I'm 190lbs
I own a skateboard but this is my first longboard..

I was looking at Sector 9 Joel Tudor Complete Longboard Skateboard - Green but haven't found any reviews on it..

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Any advice is much appreciated

I'd go with the stock. Because Sector 9 makes their boards specialized for their parts. You can only use Gullwing on the Sutset. (maybe Tracker) and their wheels aren't half bad.

Yeah go for it. Might want to look around for something with a bigger kicktail but if your set on this board, then go ahead. Use the setup the recomend at the bottom of the page

    Paris 150's
    Zigzags
    DBS bearings
and get a small shock pad.

I have the sunset. I'm about 180 and it handles great. Espescially for DH and carving. The wheels arent half bad too. Bur that can be changed too. If you want to do any sort of tricks, go with with the goddess.
Do or do not, there is no try.

It would have to be in pretty terrible condition to not be worth $30. Surfone is made by skateone the same company that does Powell boards and bones wheels. The surfone completes come with randals and the skateone wheels are decent and the decks are good quality. I have one of their 42" boards and the only thing I don't like is that kick-tail isn't great to use because the board flexes.

Hey guys. I'm looking into getting my first board and jump into the activity.

How much are you willing to pay? $200-250

What kind of riding are you looking to do? commuting/ cruising around campus. Ann Arbor is kind of flat with sharp turns all around.

Are there any shipping concerns (AKA the company is based in Cali and you live in Siberia, etc)? Nope. I live in Michigan. I just don't want to wait like 5 weeks.

How much do you weigh? 240 lbs

    How tall are you? 6'1

I have good balance. I don't want a supper High board. Moderate flex, but I realize I'm a big guy and I don't want to feel like its breaking in half. Thanks for the help.

How much are you willing to pay? $300 max incl. shipping, there is a local switchback longboards store around here too...

What kind of riding are you looking to do? I'd really just like to know my options - I bought my first longboard (arbor waterman) kind of instantly and without any research into longboarding at all. I'm more interested in a board thats good for carving and/or commuting I guess.

Are there any shipping concerns (AKA the company is based in Cali and you live in Siberia, etc)? meh.

How much do you weigh? 125-130lbs
    How tall are you? 5'8ish

Any help/information would be greatly appreciated - Although I've had my first longboard for quite awhile, this is my first time on a longboarding forum - because I kind of jumped into my first longboarding purchase, I really still don't know much about it.

Sup silverfish. Looking to get my first board.

How much are you willing to pay? $150-$200 max

What kind of riding are you looking to do? Commuting and carving. I'd like a board that really sticks.

Are there any shipping concerns (AKA the company is based in Cali and you live in Siberia, etc)? Neg. I'm in Southern California if that makes a difference.

How much do you weigh? 185

    How tall are you? 6'0"

I have ridden my friends Earthwing Wider Glider and it was pretty badass. It seemed like a great board, but I'd like to shop around a bit before spending the dough.

so guys i need some advice
one of my completes now is RM39 revenge trucks and 70mm 78a arbor trucks
i want to make a nice carving, commuting and maybe even a little DH setup))
i want to change trucks and wheels cuz trucks are too high for commuting and too unstable for DH
and wheels are to soft for commuting and too soft for DH sliding

so what trucks? will 180 randals be ok?
what about wheels? drifters 70mm 83a? or orangatang stimulus 70 83a? or maybe some erathwings?

or do i have to change a board as well if i want a complete like that?

hope to get an adequate tip
    thank you!

how are 78a too soft for commuting?? if anything i like using softer wheels for commuting seeing how my campus roads are ####.

anyway if you're looking for some wheels to start learning to slide i like the new retro freerides.I've lime right now but maybe get lemon they'd be sweet.
i dont see how revenge trucks are "too high" for commuting anyway. but i love randals and definitely recommend upgrading. get some khiro bushings and you'll have yourself a nice carvy board.

as for dh...just get a new setup.
