I'm 175lb & 6'3", interested in carving and hopefully some conditioning for surfing(newbie). I'm a total newbie to longboards, I was a weak skater a couple of decades ago. I've been absorbing (searching) info on this forum and am looking hard at a KrackedSkulls Scimitar. But I'd really appreciate your thoughts on board length. I guess I'm looking for an easy to learn board that I won't out grow. Does a 46" fit the bill?

Considering a 46" Scimitar , 75mm Lime BigZigs.

Alright I am 19 live in Miami FL there are ABSOLUTELY NO hills here.
I'm mainly going to be using this board to cruise around campus. I only weigh 135 and I'm 5'11.
I am looking for a fast smooth board and have pretty good maneuverability.

I'm not a millionaire so please just post best bang for buck board that fits my criteria thank you greatly appreciate it.

Im trying to think of a good board for my friend who just got into longboarding this year. He seems to be really into it so i leant him my old Arbor Fish Koi. He is still a beginner but he should need a new board soon. What are some good beginner boards. We live in a hilly are in New England so its mostly dh. he hasnt learned to slide yet but he will. again what are some good boards for that situation.

I got a Moose 48"x9" pintail board with 76mm Kryptonics and Core trucks for $50 from tgmskateboards.com. I've only had it a couple of days, but its a fairly smooth ride and can't bebe beat for the price.

Hey, i started Longboarding about id say a month or so ago, and my frend recomended i get a new board im about 5'5 and weigh around 100 pounds (im prety smal) al i reli kno how to do is ride, go down som hils and carv, any ideas?

i don't know it seems kinda sketchy to me and i wouldn't do it but that's just me and plus i can make my own deck in shop. so i'd check out thelongboardstore.com or loaded or sector nine but check out the longboard store.com first there you can get a complete loaded with what you want. as for price you're not going to get too much cheaper then that unless you sacrafice quality. which looking at the trucks this guy was selling were from the '60's as well. hope this helped if not oh well and srry for wasting your time.

so im 17 lookin to get a new longboard ( anythings an upgrade from the airwalk crap i have) willin to pay up $ 270 have read reviews on the loaded vanguard the apex 37 and the loaded dervish

i do some dh i carve and freeride as well im 6'2" about 165-170 lbs and live in washington state (so some hills but not too big) and i have no idea which board would be the best out of these 3 ive heard good things about the apex and the vanguard but what ive heard about original trucks worries me.........please help

I'm currently riding a Sector 9 Pintail that I'm over, I'm wanting a flexier deck and have seen/read a lot about the BC Eel.
I would be getting the flexier board from them since I am a small guy (140 lbs). I'm wanting to know if anyone suggests me keeping the trucks and wheels I have and just buying the deck, or trying to sell my old and get a new complete would be a better option.

My setup is:

Seismic Spring Loaded Trucks 150mm

• Turn 45 degree angle- front
• Turn 30 degree angle- rear

76mm 75a ABEC 11 Gumball wheels

Will this compliment the board well, or is it worth it to try and sell mine and get a complete setup?
I use the board for getting me to class and for fun riding on the weekend.

So I am not new to skateboarding. I used to skate as a teenager for a couple of years. I was never that good so I quit. I recently decided that I wanted to mix up my commute. Instead of always taking my fixed gear bike, I want to push a longboard. I was also interested in doing some downhill and sliding. I looked through some of the boards and could not find anything to help me. I am 5"10 177, with a wide foot. Thanks for the help.

I'm new to boarding in general and I have looked into boards for a while now and I think I am going to decide on the Dervish from Loaded. My main reason of buying a skateboard is to commute around the college campus (University of South Florida), but when I get better I will probably, for fun, do some tricks. No hill bombing or sliding, mainly dancing slow speed carving board flipping type stuff. The Dervish seems to have everything that I would ever need: good turning radius, good length for a beginner and to just be carried around the building at school, and I believe it will be a good trick board when I get more experienced.

My main concern is my weight. I'm 6'1'' (give or take an inch) and currently weight about 250, and dropping if all goes well. I've read a lot of posts on forums about the flex of the board and while the Dervish (flex 1) is rated for 170 - 230+ I'm afraid that as it breaks in it will lose stiffness and I'll begin to bottom out.

So I ask the good people of silverfish to assist me with my problem in anyway possible, be it a different board, different company, etc... I do ask that if you suggest a completely new board that you would give the approximate price for a complete one and a short list of reasons why you chose that one.

I'd like this board to last for a while, as I do plan to take care of it.
