Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
so im looking for some leathers
i know my size and stuff i was just wondering what brands to go with or stay away from because ive heard some brands rip easier than others
Yeah, I couldn't find any long longboards at any skateshops, so I made my own from scratch, it's horrible for powersliding or carving, but it would make a good purely speed downhill racing board.
um, first of all, this is a really old thread. secondly, there are tons and tons of evo threads and speedboard threads. up at the top, go to forums, then search form and type in evo
i didn't know until recently either.... just click on forums at the top, then click on the topic you want it to be in, then at the top left of the results will be a new thread button....
im curious too. what are all the prominent leather brands out there, and how are they.
i know of these: NJK, Daniese, AGV, & Teknic.
add more if you could, so that ebayers know where to look.

I'm just starting to longboard and I just bought a Krown City Surfer. The specs are:
10 ply canadian maple, 46" length
trucks: 9.5" heavy duty aluminum 12 mm riser pad
wheels:70mm 78a mag wheels
bearings: ABEC-7
I weight close to 185, the board bends a bit and I'm worried it isnt strong enough to hold my weight, did i get the wrong longboard for my weight??? could it break in the future???
Im not sure about DC, but i live in Northern Virginia and there is a place called East Coast Board Co. in Fairfax, VA that is pretty bad ass. If you are willing to make a bit of a trip it will be well worth it.
1. Welcome to the fish bro. Hope you find it to be hospitable and not too hostile. (The trick is to not ask stupid questions you can search for, so avoid that!! Search is at the top when you move your mouse over "Forum" a menu will pop down and just hit Search).
2. This thread is pretty old, so you might get some crap. The post you just responded to is from July. Just so ya know.
Hope you stick around even after the mandatory noob flogging. Peace.

it just so happens that im in the market for a new board. right now im riding a s9 carbon trylam w/gullwing alpines and s9 nineballs that im about to sell to this girl. im thinking about either a landyachtz DC or the new chinook. i mostly commuting/carving but ive been working on my tuck for the downhill cause i have the need for speed. by the way does anybody know anybody that has ridden the new chinook?? any suggestions would be appreciated.
hey this may be a stupid question, but i have a sector nine bamboo, and it has so much flex, that when i ride it it sags. the middle of the board seems to be bowed down a little. is this a problem?

Nope, flexy boards bend when you ride them, don't worry, its all good.
