    Question Preventing roadrash

Ok so the thing is i live in south fl where it can easally hit the mid to high 90's w/ a humidity that will have you soaked within 20 min of anything strenuous so i've gotten used to doing stuff w/ as little cloathing as possable but i've recently discovered (the hard way) that that state of mind doesn't really work in the world of longboarding so i was wondering if anyone can give me advice on preventing roadrash w/o BURNING ALIVE!!

I don't know if there is an answer to this one. Here in Oklahoma it gets really hot as well, although, we've been fortunate this year. I usually ride with some Dickies pants on to avoid getting bad road rash when I fall, even though it means I'm hotter than I'd prefer. I fell on a corner last week with a short sleeve t-shirt on and have RR all over my right arm. I'm thinking of starting to ride with long sleeves when downhilling.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you want to protect yourself, you are going to have to sweat it out.
I'm looking forward to some milder weather myself.

Skate at night ... still humid but not so hot.

Other than that , anything thick enough to protect your skin from the road is going to be HOT !

    Drink lots of water .

Pads is were its at. They aren't as hot and they protect the crucial area's most likely to get rash. You can also use them to keep the unprotected area's from hitting the asphalt. Sliding on your pads can save alot of rash if done properly.

Just take it like a man. It's too hot in North FL so even wear a shirt. I skated to school from my mom's work (we car pool and save $150 a month doing so) and I am normally soaked by the time I get there. Luckily, it's 65* in my first class.
