Re: How to flip the kingpin
Bear Grizzlies have a knurled kingpin that needs to be hammered out.
You are not the light of my life.
Making you happy isn't my greatest dream.
Your smile is not all I live for;
I've got my own stuff going on.
But you're strange and fascinating
and I've never met anyone like you.
I want to give you everything.
Just to see what you would do with it.

Nope. I've hammered the kingpins out of both Grizzlies and Indys. The kingpin is fine.

Re: How to flip the kingpin
okay cool thanks i'll try it but how do you hammer them out it seem that if i took a hammer to my kingpin while the truck was off the board that it would fly across the room

Just use a ball pen hammer and a peg, easy. Still unsure what you're asking, if you have Bear Grizzly 52's that is a reverse kingpin truck from the factory?

Re: How to flip the kingpin
I think he meant to put the nut in the baseplate and kingping coming in to the base plate so (wich only makes it harder to adjust) just put the nut flush with the tip of the king ping and bang it whit the hammer that way you don't ruin the treads.

it increases clearence between the kingpin and the road, and makes the kingpins interchangable, so you can use taller bushings. thats about it, its worth the time if you have crazy ass wedging and your locknut is scraping the asphalt. but on a truck like grizzlys im assuming you are not using too much wedging. ive done this to a few bennetts. id take two blocks of wood and put the edges of the baseplate on each block, so there is a little bit of space between the kingpin and the floor, second i take a hammer and start wacking the kingpin until it comes out. then, i take epoxy, (it works better with welding, but either way it works out) and stick a new locknut in the baseplate and glue it in there, i then let it dry and bam, your good to go. you will probably need to get a new kingpin, go to ace hardware or someplace and ask for a grade 8 9/16 in wide hex bolt. i would get a few so you can play with more bushings and have backups in case one breaks

I kid you not, run on sentences are not cool. You'll get more serious responses if people can understand what you're saying.
With that aside, Shift is right, just hammer the sucker out with a good 'ole fashioned hammer. And no, flipping your kingpin won't change how the truck performs.
