    Default First Longboard

Hey everyone, I'm just picking up longboarding, through my friends. I have little knowledge about longboards, but I want something that will be feasible in a college campus, for commuting, and the suburban setting. I want a comfortable ride as the priority, but it should be able to make the best out of the suburban setting. I am 130, and 5'8". I'm looking for a board for around 200 dollars.

all the info and recomendations about most any board can be found here Silverfish Longboarding - The Longboard Skateboard Community - Longboard Reviews

some companies to check out are:

    gravity
    landyachtz
    rayne
    loaded
    kracked skulls

or you can use the search function (recommended) and search some thing like "new commuter board" or "board for college".

i know i could have just stated a board and been done with it, but the search function is a great tool that needs to be utilized more.

what do you plan to do with the board? just commute? occassional garage run? speed runs? people will be able to help you find the "right" board when you are as specific as possible.

Thanks, I'll check out reviews and utilize the search function. I plan to use it mostly for commutes. My campus has lots of narrow hills and the surrounding is completely suburb. So I'd really like a board that I could use to travel, as well as the occasional garage run.
