180mm trucks on a mid-sized pin - bad idea?
I am planning to get a mid-sized pin (an Arbor Fish or S9 Scarab) and, although they recommend to put 150mm trucks, put 180mm. Reasons being
1) a bit more stability
2) absolutely no risk of wheelbite
3) they're more universal so i'll just unscrew them and put on any other board, which needs 180mm trucks
On the other hand, I'm concerned about footbite and loss of turnability. So what do you think?

I don't think that it makes that much difference. You will get used to pushing that pretty fast, even if you happen to get footbite, which I still doubt.

Ok, thanks for the reassurance. Any other opinions?

Why not throw 97 Flys on a Dervish with Revenge Trucks? Sure it'll work, hell, it might even be fun, but then again, it might not be.
To answer your original question, the 30mm difference really doesn't make a huge difference. I've run 180mm trucks on 33" boards, and 150mm trucks on 60" boards.
You'll be fine either way, you can carve like mad on 180s but you can still bomb hills on 150s.
