Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
Im about to buy and start customizing my eel but Im stuck on which trucks to get. I weigh about 215lbs so I'm getting the stiffer flex with the lime bigzigs.
Im mainly going to be using the board as a cruise around board, some hills but nothing drastic. Im slightly leaning towards the Paris trucks for some reason.
Any opinions will be appreciated!
Thanks!
-K
Edit: Options are Paris 180's Randall*II, or Bear 852's

I'm a douche bag on the internet according to the noobs here... i wouldn't be such a douche if you morons knew how to use the search function.

So from what I understand from searching around is :
Randal*II's are a generally good truck all around with a slightly bigger advantage on DH
Paris 180's are very carvey and very turny ( but can they handle simple10-20mph hills?)
Bears look sick, stock bushings suck, and more for downhill? Could these be used for a cruiser as well?

Don't believe what you've read, there's not that much difference between those three at all.
People have done 70mph on Paris..
I guess you're right. Well, can anybody confirm that Bears are carveable? I dont need a super stiff truck either. I know I weigh a lot so it shouldnt be a problem but Im just curious.

and 2. Hows the warranty on Bears? (landyachtz?)
Landyachtz is usually very good with customer service. Just annoying if you don't live in Canadia because of shipping and customs and all. They have also made improvements to the stock bushings; they are better but still not what I want them to be, although if you weigh a lot you shouldn't have a problem with them. If you hear anything about Grizzlies breaking, they are talking about older models of the trucks. They changed the casting process to fix this problem. Bears are very carveable.
The only real difference between the three trucks are the stock bushings. I would replace the stock bushings with some Sabre bushings, or some Venom bushings, no matter what truck you get, but there's a lot of people who are perfectly happy with their stock bushings.
I wonder if people think Bear Grizzlies are good for DH because Bear makes Smokies, wihch are a DH truck?

Bushings will make more of a difference than the differences between those trucks. There are plenty of good bushings, Venom, Khiro, Sabre, Reflex. For your weight, if you want carvey, then maybe 85a barrel/cone on each truck.
Wow, thanks for negging me because I didnt take your opinion....
you're quite welcome...
you should use the search function more often nub

Bears are 181mm in the 852's. 184mm in the 1052's. 1052's need 10mm bearings. they're 57* unflipped and 47*flipped.
Parises are 180mm, will shorten your wheelbase a smidge (make it a tinge less flexy) and have a true 8mm axel (your bearings will fit more snug, making their life last longer, and wheel wear will be more even) I don't know about their angle changes due to flipping, but I believe it's the same as randals, 53 unflipped, 47 flipped.
Randal's are 180mm as far as I know. and have a lot of baseplate options for later customization. they're 53* unlfipped at 47* flipped.
Thanks a lot jackass, and I did use the search function to get the background info I stated which you would have noticed if your little brain functioned properly.
Other than that, thanks guys. I went with the Eel with Bear trucks and lime bigzigs, graphics are in the making.
