Default I'm new to Longboarding and don't know what board to get?

Hey , I've been skating with a regular board for around 2-3 months now and quickly realized that I have no interest in tricking.

My friend had a mini longboard(that is now broken in half) and I liked cruising and carving with that.

I want to get a longboard *not a mini longboard* that cruises really well. I also want to be able to Bomb dem hillsss and carve.

I was considering the Malakai 40 from Original Skateboard but I really don't know.

    Oh and I'm 5'6 and 110 lbs.

    *To sum it all up*

    - I like Cruising
    - I like going down hills
    - I like Carving.

    Thanks for your time

these are both great all around boards, (same board just different trucks/wheels for each of them)

I'm just getting into as well and am having the same dilemma. I just want a board that would be good for campus cruising and some easy carving.

i really like the torpedo 40 from original skateboards, but i feel like it would be a little pricey for my first board.

i also like the luke nosewalker from sector 9, but...i think it might be kinda big. for a first timer i mean. wow, that sounds dirty.

my other and seemingly most probable option is a san clemente "sea foam black bamboo" 46.

any other opinions on what i should get would be appreciated. thanks guys.

A good budget first board is a Kracked Skulls M1. They're pretty cheap, and fairly versatile. If you put some softer bushings in the randalls and maybe mount them on top instead of in the drops they will carve nicely.
The M1 also gives good room for improvement and growth into other disciplines, like amateur freeriding, maybe some hills, little bit of tricks and the like, methinks.
