Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
I am looking to get into longboarding and searching for a first board. It is a bit overwhelming though, the amount and variety on the market, and I really am not sure which brands and boards are best.
I'm (about) 5' 10'' and 140lb. I want a board mainly for commuting and carving around town. Something which will carve and slide well, and handle itself on some hills (not worried about mountains or anything, though). Also looking for one 30 to 40 inches long. So, based on that, could anyone reccomend a board for me? Probably US$250 and under (Loaded Ceviche looks great, but is just too expensive for me).
Also, can you guys tell me your thoughts on some boards from the Original collection? I'm interested in the Apex 34, Custom 35 and Hybrid 35. Anything good or bad to say about those?
i personally prefer stiff boards. but really...it's up to you.
