    1. You need to loosen your trucks.
    2. For some crazy reason, maybe your friends haven't broken the mould from their wheels, and they just happen to slide better because the super smooth surface of their wheels on the super smooth surface of the pavement is better than the scrubbed surface of your wheels on the super smooth surface of the pavement.

Those are the only things I have come up with.

EDIT: There is a parking garage here with pavement like glass that I ride. It grips much better than concrete or paved roads, but once the wheels break free they slide forever. It's weird.

    1. Totaly agree, loose trucks and lean angle is the key.

    2. Wouldn't new wheels slide less than broken in wheels?

It's weird that you can't slide your durinans... I mean, I've been skating for 3 months and learned sliding on 80a orange inheats by my second month which slid fine for me. I just traded up for durians so I could start practicing on my colemans. I also can't think of a way they could be "defected"... Idk, swap wheels with your friends and try sliding with their wheels on your board. If you could slide the inheats, then there must be a problem with the wheel somehow.

Stimulus grip on concrete because the government got the thane and altered it so that when trying to "Throw Down" near an old lady, small dog, biker, snakehandler, hooker, etc. you won't take anything/anyone out with your careless slides. Your line will hold straight and you'll escape desaster. This was put into effect by California state law in 1989 and has been lost in the books. When Otang started up the laws were once again uncovered and Otang had to comply with the "Thane Law" (but on a world-wide model as to not get any bootleg wheels into California) or not be allowed to sell wheels of any type anywhere. THERE...Now you know! Go skate!!

I prefer to slide my stimulus on sidewalks (read: concrete) more than on asphalt.
    Maybe my wheels are defective

Maybe you just can't get 'em rolling fast enough in there. Why not go find a garage or a wide sidewalk that you can get some speed on and try a coleman or something. Just to see.

You're not trying hard enough. Obviously, if one method of sliding isn't working, perhaps it's time to modify your technique to try and make it work...I dunno...just stating the obvious here.

I'd say you have your answer then. You can't (or aren't) going fast enough at that ramp. Change wheels while you're skating there or go faster.

If you can slide on flat ground you'll be able to do it in the mini-ramp, its just a different weight distribution.

Try hucking yourself so hard into the 'slide' that it scares you....if you don't slide then you aren't hucking hard enough.

I'm surprised you haven't been totally flamed for this yet. "I want to know why.." "I want to slide in there.." "I already tried it.." "I already.." "I already.." "I want.." "I want.." Waaah waaaah waaah.

Call 9-wah-wah for the wahmbulance. Would you like some french cries to go with that wahmburger?

If you're not going to take anyones advice and you already tried every possible solution, what's the point of posting? What do you want from this?

If I read your question correctly, the answer would have to be; To make a noise, your wheels MUST slide.
