Default Help With Sidewinders please!

Hi I have an s9 off the wall deck with sidewinders on it. I really like the deck and the surfy feel of the trucks. However, the bushings are total crap on s9's and I can barely pump bc of it. I was wondering if anyone who has sidewinders could give me some bushing advice/ just tuning advice as the 4 kingpin setup is hard to tune.

p.s. I know alot of ppl hate sidewinders. I honestly like the feel of them alot... so pls dont just tell me to get a new set of trucks.

Thanks for the help!

Im in the same dilemma as you, but I have heard good things about the Bones Hardcore Bushings. I have also heard nothing but good things about the Venom bushings! Those are the two I will probably look into for my Sidewinders!

if your goal is to make them pump more than carve, put stiffer bushings in the rear truck and looser ones in the front. i had some of the earlier proto sidewinders but ended up liking them more for just carving, with the same duro bushings all around

Venoms or Reflex should work if you can get them to fit. Might get kinda spendy with 8 bushings though.

YELLOW (barrel) / BLUE (conical) combo Khiro bushings do a great job on the SideWinder trucks...

I find the yellows too stiff for my taste... but that could just be me.

Oh, and here's another FANTASTIC bushing combo:

Sabre x-type bottom, bones hardcore (medium) top. Super lean, super rebound. Bouncy bouncy bouncy. don't use a washer on the bottom (too tall if you do) and you don't need one on top either (bones have them built in)... that's how you can get away with the taller cones on bottom. Just get 2 sets of each.

i think there's always some kind of "middle of the road" duros with whatever brand of bushings you choose. reds and blues tend to be the happy medium for Khiros. (of the colors that people actually ride versus turning the black/purple ones into toe-stops)

bushing recommendations also mean more if you know a person's weight, not sure what the OP weighs... i'm 165 and found a blue + white khiro combo in front, and red + yellow khiro combo in back, to work well on those funky trucks for pumping.

for just carving I threw the reds and yellows on it all around.

Thanks for the help... I weigh about 185. Im trying to get this board to feel really surfy... Im from Hawaii and now in nor cal so I like pumping and carving. what would be a good bushing combo for that? I also don't know what kind of bushing shape I should get and how they affect the ride.

Hey I'm in nor cal too, and its kinda flat here so i pump and carve. i think a good all around combo is red barrels bottom and yellow cones top (both venoms). awesome rebound and great carvability 8)
