    Default Board compatibility

I am interested in building a new board, designated for easy cruising, mostly for transportation. I was hoping to keep it relatively cheap, under 250. I was looking at the Kracked Skulls M1 and Scimitar, and it's a pretty solid board. I own an Original Hybrid 35 myself, and I love the original trucks. I'm not too fond of the Randals, I've ridden on my friends Kracked board.

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to install the original trucks onto their board. I was hoping to push 250 MM S8 original trucks, but I'm a little nervous that the trucks will cause the deck to hit the ground. Also, from what it looks like, the Kracked installs trucks a little different from most boards.

    I appreciate any insight. Thanks.
    -B.

I've looked around the forums via the Search Function. It looks like someone's been able to get some Original S10s, 250 MM Trucks, onto a KS board. I'm still looking for some verification on this though.

The S8s won't mount in the dropthrough holes, but they'll work fine topmounted, like the Apex 37. The S8s sit a lot lower than Randals, so even when not mounted through the holes, the board height will be similar.

Speaking of the Apex 37... isn't the complete less than $250, even with upgraded wheels?...

And out of curiosity, what didn't you like about your friend's Randals? Do you know if he had a bushing change? Because different bushings make a woooorld of difference.

Well to be truthful I have only started longboarding, and my first board is an Original Hybrid 35. I'm very comfortable now using Original Trucks and like the ability to carve deep and responsively. Randals are a lot more stable I give them that, but they're just not Originals. I'm pretty sure the bushings have not been changed.

And yes, you're right about costwise. But the biggest reason I'm considering KS is because I'm interested in buying a blank deck so I can customize the cosmetics to the fullest. I should have put that somewhere.
