I'll jump in as well and vote Dervish. I can see myself trying lots of other boards here and there over the years to come but one deck that will remain in my quiver and get the most use is a Dervish.

WOOOT. I Agree totally, except maybe the different bushing harnesses. 46" scimitar rule the commute and grapeyapes are soooooo soft.

earthwing superglider is the most comfy and nimble ride out there for cruising. topmount for good carving, but with indies is still as low as a dropped deck on randals. kicktail is really good for curbs and whatnot. dervishes are great decks but probably too bouncy for efficient cruising. i've ridden both and still prefer my superglider for getting places, it's just that comfortable.

Hey you Eel vs. Dervish guys, the Gravity Kalai's been getting some good reviews. Looks real sick, supposedlly no torsional flex.

R.I.P. draft or pass. You were a monument to Silverfish.

Try a Rayne Hustler. Very light, flexy, and rides low for a comfortable push.

I second kracked skulls. I think if you were in a position where you wanted maximum value out of owning JUST ONE longboard, a 42 or 44 inch scimmy would be ideal. It's got some nice baltic birch flex that is qualitatively different than loaded and other bamboo boards. Not as crazy lively for carving, but probably better for downhill and pushing, plus they seem to last forever.

William has a nice selection of quality parts for the completes that he includes near at-cost. For a sweet cushy ride I'd recommend a 44" scimitar, gumballs, skip the bearings and quartz grip and head to the local skate shop for a $5 roll of grip and some reds. Really the biggest advantage here is that for the price of a dervish you could afford to beat the crap out of your first scimitar and buy another when it wears out after several years, heh.

--And don't forget the spray paint for custom graphics!
