I've been riding mine for a year now and the biggest chunk is <1mm, just break them in correctly and you'll be golden

What are chunks exactly? And how do you properly break wheels in?

yes, dont rush the big slides. Get that nice little roughed up surface on the wheel going, then go bust em out.

Chunks are when pieces of the wheels lips break off, usually caused by sliding before the wheel is broken in or bad roads. By carving and pumping until the mold release wears off and the edges of the lips begin to round

I broke mine in pretty well before I started sliding. I haven't had any problems.

for real? chunking happens when you run the wheels sideways and the lip catches and tears. if you dont slide then thy wont chunk, unless you run over something sharp that rips your wheel.

But little bits of my wheel are tearing away, so I assume that's from the abrasive road surface I have?

you are rubbing a soft material on a hard surface, of course its going to wear down. but its not going to tear chunks out of your wheel.

My board got away from me and hit a curb with the wheel. there is a chunk there. its gotten bigger over time. i would buy these again they are nice. maybe lime bigzigz instead. before you slide take some nice fast hard carve runs.

It's not necessarily chunks but just pieces of the lip. So you're saying it's normal wear and tear?

    so many dumb questions.

if your wheels chunked, it may be due to the fact you did not break them in SUFFICIENTLY.

I've had orange 4prez for about 3 months and rode them hard on my dervish. I slid them real hard every day for so long (standups and hands down) and pretty much rounded the edges very nicely. Then, I liked the wheels so much that I swapped to my dh board (landy switch). After one shut down slide while dhing, the wheels coned (pretty noticeable). Does anyone know if these will happen to orange inheats as well. I just got brand new orange inheats put on my switch, should I break them in on my dervish again (I find it a lot easier to break them in using my dervish than my switch), or just ride them how they are for dh? Thanks!
