    Default Just a question??

Ok so i've had this question for a few days now...is a SayShun Epiphany a good pump/push/commute board?? and is there a good setup for all 3 of those?

I wouldn't know about the Epiphany, although it looks more marketed towards a freeride/downhill board, I can definitely suggest the Gbomb Cambiar as a hybrid pusher/pumper. I love mine, and I can take it anywhere.

I cant speak to the Epiphany directly, but in general pintails make excellent setups for a variety of riding disciplines.

    Things you should think about.

    How far is your commute.
is deck length an issue for storage etc.

The pintail design is pretty basic. Pick your width, flex, concave.and length.

I have experience with the Epiphany. It's more of a carving board that can do a little speed and cruising. I wouldn't call it a great pumping board, although I haven't seen one set up for that either. Either way it's a killer deck. If you really wanna larger pumper then look at the Forge. That is a great board for pumping and carving.

Well you should be able to pump on it if you set it up right, but it's just not a pumping board. The Epiphany is a killer deck either way like I said. I really like it and the pintail design in general.

hmm yeah love how the epiphany pintail looks, also i love how the desings on the bottom are, but for me i think the crisis might be a better board, im not sure what to go for, epiphany or crisis haha.

Yeah I think it's like $30ish more than the Epiphany. My cousin just got the Crisis complete with Paris 180s and Plasma wheels and he loves it.

Yeah im prolly going to get the crisis, also are the bearings and the bushings that come with the Crisis good?, thats all im worried about for now is the bushings and bearings. Cause the wheels are perfect for what im looking for and the trucks are nice cause if i break them ill get another pair for free lol..

Plasma's are frikken awesome. You're more likely better off with the Crisis but I'm just going to add some extra information about the Epiphany. It's not that great of a pumper with the long wheelbase, it is an amazing aggressive carver though but I had the need to sand in my own wheel wells on the front because I couldn't get it as loose as I wanted it too. It's a wide board and the gas pedal concave is pleasant and I actually enjoy it for dancing, but if you've got really small feet, I don't think it would be optimal for you.

Lemme tell ya what I learned about bearings. lol Get the cheap ones. Especially if you are gonna rain ride. You likely won't be able to tell the difference between $8 bearings and $99 bearings other than the look. lol Just get the cheap ones and keep them lubed and clean. When they finally crap out, your just out $8.

Here is some advice. Just get the one that is the most affordable to you so you can get the deck/trucks you want. Since Wheels, bearings and bushings are all things that will need to be replaced as time goes on you can experiment later. I mean if you can afford the Zigs then get them, but get on the deck and get stoked as hell first. Then worry about all the other little stuff. Here is a funny thing to think about. I live on Vancouver island and we are on about our 2nd month of rain just about every day. So I have been doing more internet than skating. Over the summer I skated every day. To work, for fun, whatever. Now I am home and looking online at decks and stuff and I just wanna buy EVERYTHING! If the weather was better I would be out on my Dervish shredding and not giving a #### about the next coolest wheel lol till I needed a set due to wear. I got about 30 minutes of riding in today and it depressed me. I am sitting here looking at online dealers trying to convince my wife to let me spend more money. lol I think she wants dry weather to come more than I do lol. Sorry for the rant. Just trying to say that you should get what you can afford and will get you stoked!

Check out GFH retros. I know they are cheap and fun as hell to ride. There is, or should be a Silverfish code to get them hella cheap. When I got a set they were just giving them away. You paid shipping and the wheels were free. Just seach GFH Retros.
