No. But you won't believe me. Read this: ABEC ratings and what they actually mean

It's great for sidewalk riding, sandy areas and wet riding. I personally prefer the non-spray WLG over all other lubricants.
Have a board that is peeling apart? Go here: http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...ing-delam.html
In many cases, you can inject epoxy in between the plies and clamp the wood together. It works very well.
Do not expose your board to the weather when you aren't riding it. Leaving yoru board outside will decrease the life of your board.
Tired of having boards laying around everywhere? Go here: http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...-rack-diy.html
You can make a board rack out of scrap wood in one hour. It's worth checking out if you have scrap wood.
Fear of getting in trouble at a parking garage or any other establishment? It is not permitted to skate on most public and private establishments. Beware of signs that state "No Skateboarding." It's best to be kind to the authoritative figure kicking you out. Don't resist, you will end up making it worst for future skaters.
Hear noises coming from my trucks? No problem. Rub wax in the pivot cup. Check to see if the washers are rubbing the trucks. Noises are normal. Don't freak out over them.
Which board to get? It's all rider preferences. Asking isn't the best way to find out how a board feels under your feet. Same goes with bushings. Check out the board reviews sections. Go here: http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...-guide-lt.html
Loose trucks saves lives? Go here: Speed Wobbles and You
It's a matter of preferences, but when I ride loose trucks, I have more control. It makes it easier to provide the minor adjustments to avoid loosing control.

What flex should you pick? Well, look on the website. It will list what weight range each flex has. If you weigh 160lbs and flex 1 is 170lbs, it's probably a good bet you could go with flex 1. It's not a hard choice. Think about it before asking.
What shoes are best for skating in? Go here: Best shoes to skate in?
There isn't a set shoe standard. It's what feels best for you. You can skate in any shoe. There isn't a preference like some think. It's obvious you don't want to skate with giant bulky boots that restrict movement.
Is in true that stretching helps? Yes. It's good to stretch at least your legs before you shred up the land. It helps me stay consistent with my movements.
Please continue adding information to this thread.

Tired of carrying your board? Check this out: Strapping Longboard to Back?
You can rub wax on your board where you have the potential for wheel bite. This will reduce the sudden stopping effect. It's not full proof, but can help the paranoid feel at ease.
Skitching is bad because when it's you versus a metal object, you are at the disadvantage. Don't do it. People die for this cheap thrill.
What's the deal with Brakes Parts Cleaner? Well, I prefer using brakes parts cleaner to maintain my bearings because it is a powerful solvent, evaporates quickly, and the high pressure pray can be used to spin out the grim in the bearings. Here is a great thread filled with information about bearings: how to clean abec 5 greaseballs

How tight do I tighten my hardware? Easy, until it's tight. Duh!
What kind of bolts from the hardware store are the standard for the Dervish? 1" 10 32 UNC machine bolts.
How do you measure hardware? With recessed bolts, it's the entire length of the bolt. With machine bolts, it's from under the head to the end. If you plan on installing a nose guard or risers, it shouldn't be hard to decide the length to compensate the extra length.

re: Silverfish Collective Knowledge Database (SCKD) READ ME!!!!!!
Another trucks making noise solution: When you stand on your board the bottom bushing compresses and thus making a space between your kingpin bolt and your washer. This will often times make it rattle, but as soon as you get off the board the bottom bushing decompresses so the trucks appear to be tight enough. My advice is to tighten the trucks while kneeling on the board.
Also, bottom bushing = bushing closest to board, top bushing = bushing closest to the ground.
Another: Side set wheels are usually slipperier than center set. Round lip will break free easier than a square lip.
YES. Baltic Birch is a good building material.

re: Silverfish Collective Knowledge Database (SCKD) READ ME!!!!!!
What about grip tap art? Draw on the back of the grip, on the paper backing. Cut out the design and the rest is pretty much simple from there. You can use an Xacto knife, scissors, or a razor blade tool.
Need to sand off clear grip? Use sand paper. It doesn't take much so check it every few short passes. Wipe the dust off.
What about paint? What kind can be used? Well, nearly any kind of paint can be used. You can clear coat over it to make it permanent.
Stencil? Spray your stencil with 3M spray adhesive, let it tack up and dry, stick it to the cleaned surface, paint with spray paints, and remove the stencil with alcohol. This will help get precise lines.
Paints bleeding under your tape? Hold the spray can further away and apply many light coats, waiting between each coat.
The harder bushing generally goes on tho bottom.

What about how to initial titles? You take the FIRST letter of each word and put it together. For example, Silverfish Collective Knowledge Database would be SCKD.

Yes, but the information is scattered throughout the forum. This thread was intended to localize knowledge so it wouldn't be difficult for noobs to find information, instead of posting new threads for old questions.
Basically, I'm going out of my may and making a strong effort to make it easier for noobs to find and gain information.
It's my way of contributing to SF.
