Default how "tight" is tight in terms of the hardware nuts and bolts screwed onto the board

hey guys. wondering if any of you guys also experienced a screw that came of just by cruising? the hardware nuts was part of the complete which i purchased off daddies. then it came off it was lost so i bought khiros hardware instead. now, my question is how tight should it be ? should it be super tight that u cant exert any more force anymore or should it have little play?? im using a dervish and im scared that if i super tighten the screw it might crack :|

I am not aware of any torque setting for hardware.

My experience has led me to believe that thin soft risers help to ,preserve deck graphics, prevent stress cracks (old wives tale?) add a bit of cush, keep hardware tighter, more consistent.

edit: short answer ..more than finger tight..but not compressing the deck material to any real degree.

I used to snap hardware all the time when I started skatan then I was told that soft risers+tight hardware will make the screws snap way easier.

the way you figure out if its too lose is to stick both hands in and clap, if your able to clap its too loose

i tighten it until i start to feel the slightest bit of turning resistance, too tight you crack your board, too loose you shear your hardware clean off

There should definitely be no play. I tighten until there's resistance, and then do one more half turn. Use washers for added security.
