my outside wheels lift while turning, any one know why?
my outside wheels lift while turning, any one know why?
ok, so i built my own drop deck deck last month and it turned out really well. its 11" wide tapering down to 10" and 47" long, with a 2" drop but now iv come across something i was not expecting. whenever i turn one, or both of my outside wheels come off of the ground. anyone got any clue as to why this might be happening?
this is the board.
the nose.
and the tail.
ps: the angled riser on the front down not make the front flat. the trucks are on a 10* angle.
Re: my outside wheels lift while turning, any one know why?
That tends to happen when you wedge trucks (in my experience... I could be wrong). Why would you dewedge the front so that the back truck is at a higher angle? Flip the angled riser around so your truck is wedged more than the back one, or swap the risers with the front and back. That board has an incredibly long wheelbase, too, so you are probably turning too hard to accommodate for this long wheelbase, resulting in the wheels achieving liftoff

Get sabre F/X type combo pack from MHS. Venoms will do fine also if you got those. How much flex does your board have?

That might be the problem too. Bear bushings don't tend to well move a lot. If you're a heavy guy you'll break them in eventually, but if you're a guy like me (150LBS) it'll take a while.

yeah. i have a set of venom supercarve and a set of venom DH on order. should be here this week. and it has medium flex. its 7 ply E. maple but im going to add another 2 plys soon to make it a 9ply board.
@MJkam:
yeah i dont think i have mine broken in totally. even though i did really hard carving for about a week straight when i got them.
Re: my outside wheels lift while turning, any one know why?
congrats, you made your board symmetrical.
if you have a nose/tail, one will lean less than the other, meaning one will lift first.

actually i know it looks symmetrical. but its not. the nose has a much steeper angle then the rear does. and it drops 1.5" in the back and 2" in the front. so its close but not exactly.
