beginner needing help
Hello guys, i know you get alot of these but i really want 2 get into long boarding. I have been searching but i honestly have no idea what to get. Its a bit hard cause non of my friends do it and i dont have any type of shop near me to go and ask questions. I really dont have much open space, but i just want a board to go crusing around to get from one place to another. Also im like 240 pounds so i dont wanna jump on and break the thing.

Re: beginner needing help
Budget? Preference for shape? What are your roads like (rough/full of gravel, smooth, average, etc.)?
Good beginner setups that everyone likes are the Kracked Skulls M1/Scimitar and the Earthwing Superglider/Supercharger.
If you get a Kracked Skulls, email the guy and tell him your weight so he can stiffen the board up a bit for you, so it isn't too flexy. And if you get the Superglider from MHS, email him and he may be able to set it up with some stiffer bushings so it's not squirrely when you ride it.

Re: beginner needing help
My budget is something under 200 bucks. Shape really isent that big a deal. The roads around here are average, not that bad.

Re: beginner needing help
Sector 9 boards aren't bad and you can get a complete for 200.

It's hard to determine what you like and don't like starting out. Basically, you can't go wrong because you have to get a feel of what you need/want and that only comes with experience. If are looking to get heavy into longboarding (not saying you aren't already), this wont be your first board.
Here is a rough "sketch" of my preferences:
32" long or more
8.5" wide or more
28" wheel base or more
wide trucks
69mm - 75mm wheels no more than 86a
80a - 91a bushings
Any Bearings with WLG
I don't like my board being taller than 5 inches.
I'm 6' 2" 190lbs.
Please note that everyone is different. I only posted my preferences to show an example. I hope I was of some help.
Carbon Trylam is a pretty nice deck.
Also, here is a great source of info.
