Default Switching from Bamboo to Maple.........?

I have been longboarding for about four or five months now and I started out on the Bamboo LY Battle Axe. I am bustin out Colemans and TS 180s right now on bamboo but I just got my LY Drop Speed in. The board is sweet! I feel like I can't fall off of it with that Double U concave! Experience tells me I WILL fall and fall HARD so, before I do, what should I expect when attempting my first slide on this board? Do I need as much speed as I can get or should I approach em the same way as I do on by Battle Axe? With this setup, I got Bear Grizzly 852s w/ DBS ABEC 7 bearings and spacers. Wheels are 83a O'tang Stimulus.

The fall will probably be very similar to any other fall on a longboard, bud. There are riding differences between bamboo and maple or W concave and normal concave, but neither are large enough differences to make you fall differently. You act as if you were switching from a bike to a skateboard. Haha

A longboard is a skateboard in the same way a MILF is still a mother.

No, dude. I heard that a board without flex is alot harder to slide than a board w/ flex. I was basically looking to see if this was true. I didn't think that i'd fall off any differently than normal.

Just go out and try, no need to over think this stuff. You´ll most likely find the Drop Speed easier to slide.

Also, I appreciate the help. I'll give it a shot as soon as I can get back on the street. I can't wait to try out the O'tangs.

good to see you got the drop speed.

you'll probably need more speed to break traction at first, but nothing extreme.
give it a go and you'll figure it out. haha
