screws not screwing?

ok so like i got my screws for my board but when i try to tighten them they only tighten to a certain point...ugh like what do i do?

pics would help answer this, it could be a few different problems.

may be that they are securely on and you are being all OCD about tightness
the threading of the screws could be janky
could be the wrong hardware
the way you are doing it could be wrong
the "God(dess) of speed" may look down upon you and smite your stoke (probably this one)

like if i just hold 1 screw in the air nothing else and try to like screw on the bolty thingy i can turn it maybe 5 times and it will come to a stop and if i try to screw it on any more it just wont.. like theres still an inch left of room -1.25'' screws

if you are just doing it by hand then that is your problem. after a certain point you can't screw it on anymore by hand. skate tool, ratchet, or wrench and a philips head will get the job did.
