Clutch DeezNutz, 42* Randals all around for going fast, 35* front and 50* rear for more sliding.
Any bearings as long as they spin.
Bushings are weight dependent. I like Sabres. Venoms are also good.
ABEC 11 Flashbacks are a great wheel. 78a for more grip, 81a for more slip.
Clutch Lamb Chop
50* Calibers
78a CS Raceforms/78a Mini Monsters

Re: Argh need help
a landyachtz drop carve would be about what your looking for sounds like. If you are going to carve more than bomb you are going to want flex and dropcarve will give it to you. Dervish will do the same thing, and so will apex 37, but i like the landy. then get some snazzy paris or randal trucks angle isnt going to be too important for what you are looking for. put some lemon or lime big zigs on it and since you have 500 consider a bearing upgrade to bones swiss or better, it will make you happy if you have the spare cash. bushings i think are meh, ride the stock ones unless you are going into some crazy DH stuff.

Re: Argh need help
I would recomend the comet loki drop or the comet pagan drop they are the same board but different sizes. They are both great dh boards as well as a "speed carver" in some views. If you are looking for something less downhill oriented the fsm is right up your alley it is a fun and easy board to slide. If you are looking for something more freerideish then i would go with the loaded dervish it is harder to take at high speed than the comet boards i have mentioned.
turcks wise i prefer bears for dh with maybe some barrel khiros. On my loaded vanguard which is a flexier freeride board i love my paris'.
Wheels you probobly want an 80a durometer wheel and otang in heet would be good as well as lime bigzigs. I prefer bigzigs because i feel like there urethane lasts longer. but most of that is personal preference.
bearings bones reds are solid. 15 bucks
a more high end abec 11 biltin bearins are higher quality
I hope this helped and good luck
ITS NOT THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE FIGHT BUT THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG

I say Loaded Dervish. Perfect for carving, and holds it own at high speeds. I bought one a little bit ago, now my favorite board.

Re: Argh need help
i like the grom race
but i think i can only get it from landyachtz and there i can't get any ceramic bearings
oh and i maybe a bit to tall for it i'm 6.1 foot
(i need to buy everything from one shop cause i live in germany and i want to keep the post fees as low as possible)

Re: Argh need help
You have NO need for ceramic bearings, they aren't any faster...

i like to ride in the rain so i thought ceramics would be good cause they can't rust

Remember that while the balls can't rust, the rest of the bearing can. The key is to keep your bearings clean and well lubed. If you are set on ceramics, these are cheap for being ceramic: LongboardSkater.com: Rush Bearings - Ceramic

Re: Argh need help
If I lived in Germany and was looking for a long board this is what and where I'd buy.
And if you have $500 to spend you can probably buy even crazier stuff than this, but this is what I found at this German shop:
Airflow Raceline, it's going to carve and when you do the unavoidable switch to down hill it will aid you there as well
Airflow Raceline 95cm -
Edger grip tape, because you want your feet to stay on the board
Edger Griptape 10x34 -
Paris 180mm trucks. A great crusing and carving truck that also works at speed when you're trying out DH.
Paris Truck 180 -
A cheap, but super high quality set of bearings. NO NEED TO UPGRADE! I linked you to Reds because I swear by them.
Bones Reds -
One of my favorite wheels. They're fast, they grip and if you get into sliding these are smooth once broken in, plus the size will make wheel bite less of a problem.
Alligator wheels 71mm/80a 4er set -
Hardware, because it's better than glue
Khiro Panhead 1.5" Hardware -
I guess these are optional, but a pair of shock pads make for a smoother ride and protect your deck from cracks around the baseplate.
Khiro Shockpads 1/8 paar -
Conretewave.de is a great European store with everything you need, plus some crazy slalom trucks.
And you won't have to pay crazy prices for shipping or clearance, plus faster shipping.
Hope this helped.

Re: Argh need help
thanks again for all your answers
it's no problem for me to buy the stuff in the us (actually it's cheaper then in germany)
but i should be able to get it all from one store
-
Re: Argh need help
The pro about buying it from Germany would be faster shipping, actually getting your stuff without sitting in front of UPS.com hitting the refresh button on the tracking page.
And after shipping and clearance you're barely saving anything.
But if you're after a brand or product that concretewave.de doesn't have in a stock then I understand.

I do not like the deck and truck choice at all. Or the bearings choice. Don't get that setup. Here's what's wrong with the trucks.
Kahalani's are meant for downhill and going fast. You won't like how they feel going slow, especially on a deck that is about 8 inches wide. They are a waste imo unless you DH a lot and are into racing. A set of paris trucks will perform just as well for what you are doing. So save 150 bucks and get a set of parises.
The apex 37 is a narrow board, and is flexy. So it is not meant for speed at all (it is designed around original trucks, which are also not meant for speed). On top of that, because it is narrow and has cutouts, you will have some serious problems with footbite, espeically with kaha 204's (which are a terrible choice).
Here's a nice setup for you:
Your bushing and wheel choice is fine, stick with those if you want.
As far as bearings go, I would get either Bones reds or biltins, because they are easy to maintain. Get spacers for the reds if you get those. I've ridden my biltins in the rain a LOT and they have yet to perform worse. Reds have seals on them so they keep out dirt and water nicely. As long as you clean your bearings after riding them in the rain, rust won't be a problem. It will be if you don't, even for ceramic bearings because they still have metal components.
For a deck, I would go with something like the Earthwing Boomerang. It's a little flexy, but it's stiff enough to handle some speed. And it's real fun to carve on. If you want something stiffer get the Earthwing mystery model.
And for trucks just get paris 180's (150's if you have a narrower deck). The stock bushings in those are fine so you shouldn't need to change them unless they are too soft or hard for you. But bushings are cheap and there is nothing wrong with getting a set of venoms or sabres to try out.

Re: Argh need help
Agreed, that's a very poor deck/truck combo.
If you're going to get the Apex 37 (which I'd advise against), try to get some Indy 215s.

No. Those are too wide for it. That's just asking for footbite (when your foot hits the wheel from carving too hard). Get indy 169's, if you are set on the apex deck. But I wouldn't get the apex 37 deck

Re: Argh need help
i have a feeling im going to be hated for this but.
i like my sector 9 sunset more than my friends dervish, vanguard, original path 37, and bc eel
its setup is. 10" gullwing chargers with 90a divine bushings all around and 86a otang stimulus. i has a slight W concave which is what i like. (turned me on to the avenger) not to heavy and not to aggresive of a concave. i would have gotten paris in it if it wasnt bought from my local shop. the only complant is that it isnt symetrical.
happy hunting

I've been riding a Soldier for a while and I like it. I've always used Randals (there stock bushings are good but Venoms are better) and Abec 11 wheels (I like Gumballs). Bearings are bearings as long as you take care of them.
Good luck in your search, you're going to get a lot of opinions that's for sure.
