Default Question about Me and my new board

Hey All, I'm new to this forum. I recently got a Landyachtz Dually with 195mm Paris Trucks, 75mm Retro BigZigs with Bone Swiss Bearings. The trucks are using the stock red double barrel bushings. I don't know much about boards >_< am just need advice i guess since the board now seems a bit long. I am 5'10 205lbs. Is this board too long for me? I was looking at the Switch but they didn't have any in stock at Black Diamond Sports so I went with the dually since it was only like 2 inches different.

    Thank in Advance!

    -Tony

If it feels too big...it probably is too big. If it's not too late, see if you can exchange the deck, otherwise you are SOL.

    Welcome to this fish!
Actually That board should be just fine for you although it is the common feeling of most people that the dually is a tad long... You did pick some very wide trucks so that might be effecting the agility of the board if that's what you're concerned with. You really have a very nice set up.. What are you actually feeling that brought you to the conclusion that the board was too long?
(btw thank you for including board info NOW as opposed to later, you're set up for success here )

Thanks for your response. Yeah the guy recommended me the 195mm since he said it would be good for carving and downhill depending on how i set it up. The board feels big since I came from a Sector 9 board. I think it was a fin tail and about 38" i think. The dually is like 43" or 44". There is still a lot of things I need to learn and I think the tuck in's feel good for me on this actually since there is more space since I don't like feeling confined.

yeah welcome the dually should be fine, I don't think you'll feel that much of a difference between it and the switch. As of now your set up seems to be more downhill oriented, if you do decide to get more into carving and stuff like that you may look into getting some cone bushings.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I feel that it's set up for DH since I will eventually get into it. My S9 is great getting around people on campus but this will take a little to get use to since it's stiffer and seems to make wide turns since it's double barreled for bushings. I will definitely look into bushings for carving and so forth. My S9 has 2 cones... maybe that's why it was so easy to make super sharp turns.

That is one of the reasons. One of the other ones is that it is more flexible which increases agility, another is that I can assume it had gullwing 150's on it since that's what sector9's usually come with which is also more agile, and the last is the shorter wheelbase.

If you're going to be doing more campus cruising I could consider 70mm wheels, and some double cone bushings like sabres or reflexes for a setup like that.

I use a 12" board for campus cruising

LOL! tiny >_<. But yeah I will probably look into double cone bushings again. 75mm wheels are fine for me currently thanks for suggestion though. will keep that in mind. As for the S9... they were 180mm alpine. So confused on whether I should keep it or not... might wanna sell it.

Well then putting some nice double cone bushings on there should put you exactly where you want to be in terms of agility. Consider some rather nice ones like the Venom SuperCarves or the Sabre X-type. You might also try putting flat washers on the bushings you have now (unless they already are, my last paris's came with cup washers) so this will also help with agility.
