    Default Difference of Randals?

What is the differenc between the randall II 180's and the DH's? Are they good for sliding, I assume the DH is much heavier. I'm planning on getting the Randal II 180's but if the DH's are better I am going to buy them.

DHs are made fpr downhill racing. The angle is different and makes them much more stable (read: can't turn much). The rIIs are more all around for carving and stuff, can be tightened down for stability or by flipping the hangar.

Depends on where you are riding. DH randals have a 35 degree pivot angle, compared to the r-II's 50 degree pivot angle. The DH randals do not turn much at all at lower speed, and are very stable at higher speeds (35+ mph). The r-II are nice and turny... but are still stable around 30 mph. The r-II (Randal II 180) has a reversable hanger, that when reversed (or flipped) will decrease the pivot angle of the trucks, thus making the R-II 180 randals stable at speed.

Just to let you know, I have taken my Randal II 180s up to 53mph with no speedwobbles in sight. So unless you are craving SUPER STABILITY at Real high speeds, I would suggest the R-II 180.

By default, both R2s hangers (not the baseplate of the truck, which is bolted to the deck, reversing that is a terrible idea) are "unflipped." When you flip the hangers, you are making them *less* turny and more stable. So you can't make a R2 turnier because it is already in the most turny configuration by default. You *can* flip just the back truck, leaving the front truck turny, but making the back truck a little more stable.

    Did that answer your question?

yeah it did. i was thinking that having the rear truck normal and the front one flipped it would turn the back around quicker, but i wasn't thinking too clearly...
